Best method to lucid dream at normal bed time?

Hey. I have some noob questions which want feedback

Whats the best method to achieve lucid dreaming at a normal bed time (10 pm) when I'm going to be woken up by my alarm at 6:25?

Also, why is it some people on the forum have a lot of LDs a month, and some so few? Do you get better at it with practice? Or does it just depend on the person?

Is it just me, or does eating pickles & cheese a few hours before bed make anyone else have crazy dreams? lol.

The best method right now would be constant autosuggestion during the day (reassuring yourself that you will lucid dream when you go to bed), doing reality checks as much as possible (my favorite is plugging my nose and trying to breathe), and maybe mess with some WBTB stuff (wake up after 5 hours or so, stay up just long enough to gain some conciseness, then go back to bed and try to WILD).

Your skills wayyy improve the longer you go at it.

Funny thing, if I drink pickle juice before I go to bed (which I haven't done in a while) it did seem to make my dreams more vivid, and better recall.

      I'll try that again tonight

      Hope this helped some.

Your post did help Vegan, thanks.

About doing reality checks as much as possible - Is there a better reality checks that aren't annoying? ex. I don't want to have to plug my nose and see if I can breath every time I enter a doorway. lol. What I want to do is a simple reality check (I don't wear a watch, so thats out), something easy that won't be annoying, then if I realize my check indicates I'm dreaming, then I'll try the nose thing. Does anyone know any simple, non annoying reality checks?

      Thanks

Reality checks, at its root is simply asking yourself "Am I dreaming?"
So my Rc is, how did I get here, is this a dream, does my stituation make sense?

      and thats that.

Jonathan's RCs are good ones. You could also try to push your tongue through your closed front teeth, pull your finger and see if it stretches or try to lift off the ground.

for me ( and most people ) i look at my hand usualy for my RC
most the time if your dreaming you will have a weird amount of fingers or they will be deformed.

one time my fingernails were eyes..
one time i had 3 fingers
one time i had half a pinky
one time i had 8 fingers

      etc.....

another good one is like when your at school or something or online
look at some text.close your eyes,or turn your head. Then look back at the text and if it dosn't say the same thing as it did before than your dreaming.

      Best of luck man

Pickle juice?! People actually drink what's left in the jar when the pickles are gone?!
dude, how could you not drink it?
I heard from a couple of websites that vitamin b6 increases dream realism from wikipedia.org, anyone tried this before?
it really helps your dream recall and maybe a little realism(for me anyway) but its really for beginners who need help on thier recall. also it bad for you after a long period of taking it.

I didn't know anyone did that, but my older sister once drank the olive juice that was left in the jar when the olives were all gone.. and she was sick as a dog for the rest of the day!

Haha yeah, I love pickle juice. I think the recall is a placebo effect though.

I dunno if it's placebo.. I never heard of it before I tried it, and it made my dreams real vivid.
