If you'd asked me hypothetically, I'd probably say that I didn't think lucid dreams would be connected to hallucinations. Vivvid dreams, yes, but the self awareness that is lucidity? Experience trumps guesswork and I obviouslly don't have the experience.

I've not seen this come up on DV before either. I don't know anything about mental health or the neurology of dreaming.

Google says there are forums for mental health / psychology out there on the internet; if DV is silent you might find more knowledgable people on sites like www.psychforums.com.
Well, you should read the autobiography of Nikola Tesla.. he also had very vivid hallucinations through his life which were at first hard to control, and this made it easier for him to do Lucid Dreams.. but theres alot more to it, very interesting reading information for everyone whos interested in lucid dreams. Because this man claims he created and tested out all his inventions in his lucid dreams, and then recreated them in real life and they always worked flawlessly. Almost all technology today based on energy waves and electricity are using patents of Nikola Tesla. (AC, x-rays, rontgenrays, microwaves, radiowaves, all invented by him) Only the first pages of his autobiography are about hallucinations and lucid dreams tho, the rest is about his inventions ^^ you can find it for free on the internet. Make sure you get his AUTObiography, the biography he wrote himself, and not some biography written by someone else.
