Dc do know that its just a dream

Well, im LD for years but its funny, I never asked a DC this Q before, now tonight I asked this girl, she said- yup! without a prob, so im like- so what happens when I wake up- you die? so she was like "ummm, well.. not die.. more like taking a nape.." than I turn to all the ppl that where there-"you all know your DC too?" "yeah.."
Do you think dc know your dreaming all the time, but wont tell you so cos thay dont like/trust you? or thay just dont know at all in most cases?

DCs are conjured up by your imagination, therefore they aren't real. They know it's a dream because you do.

The idea that the DCs are self-aware and know that they "nap" (or, "die") when you wake up is slightly creepy.

But like Reaping Clarity said, the DCs are an extension of your mind and so they should know that you are dreaming...although they can deceive you sometimes.

This might sound cheesy but I try to treat DC's as if they were real people with actual feelings. I think it has helped my LD's considerably.

Not cheesy at all. I do the same. It makes the experience more interesting and intense. If you imagine that DCs are complex, then they will be.

Well, they don't have cognitive thought... But if you think about it, they do kind of nap when you wake up. The part of you mind that is making them talk and move in your dream is probably dormant while you are awake!
      Bollocks.

I've seen both cases in my lucids.

I've only confronted my DCs about it twice. The first time they acknowledged that they were DCs. However, they said that when I wake up, their "dream world" stays entirely intact, I'm just not in it anymore until the next time that I dream. They carry on with their dream lives and so forth.

The second time they just would not accept that they were DCs, even after I levitated in the air and then lifted one of them up telekinetically. (He was more annoyed than impressed.)

Most of the time now I just leave the subject alone. For some reason when I announce that I'm dreaming, my DCs tend to just clam up.

I think it is also possible that some DCs are spirits. However, otherwise I agree with others in that they are just extensions of our own consciousness and anything we ask about them is being asked of ourselves.
