Sorry to sound like a noob, but what is image-streaming? I am often able to have some sort of control over my hypnagogic images, if it's related to that.

People have mentioned this before. I still don't know if I'm supposed to describe the hypnagogic like hallucinations I see when I close my eyes, or just my mental/daydreaming imagery. I suppose it's the hypno type... It would be hard to describe the daydreaming one, I'm not very conscious when I'm dreaming.

I read a article on a psychologist that went blind and he 'mastered' this technique. Instead of seeing with his eyes, he formed pictures of his surroundings in his head. He was even able to climb up to his roof and fix his gutter o.O just buy taking in outside info and making a picture of it.

I still don't really know what this means, and I'm in too much of a hurry to read the link the other person posted, but If I'm right I think I can image stream...

Sometimes, when I'm going to sleep, I'll let my mind wander and see what pops up in my head. These thoughts are very random, like a penguin eating a pancake on a brick wall. Weird thoughts like that.

On a rare occasion, one of these thoughts will pop up inside of my eyelids, and I'll get a glimpse look at the image before it fades. I've kind of learned to control these images, like for example, I'll think of being in the mountains and sometimes I'll see the mountains inside of my closed eyelids. Instead of getting excited and breaking the image, or in other words making it disappear, I'll let the image flow into something else- so It's like I'm watching a soundless and distorted animation in my head.

More commonly, I'll get glimpses of some very scary images. I've been seeing people I know popping up in front of a garden of sorts, with their eyes rotten and dried out and zombie like wrinkles around the skin of their eyes. They will just stare at me with a sad and angry expression. The image will fade after about a second, but I will clearly remember what I saw.

I don't know why, but I've been getting a lot of those images lately.

I've practiced image streamign for along time, and I've found it's improved.

What I'm about to tell you I beleive to be very important for developing this type of ability, whatever you do never try to understand how you visualise, it is an abstract feeling, nothing can explain it, it's like trying to explain how you move your arm, once you accept this it becomes easier. It's very similer to remembering a scene, you will get a picture i nyour head when you do this.

Read the link on image streaming. Its not what you would assume it is. It is where you visualize randomly and without purpose and record descriptions of what you see into a tape recorder.

I've never been too into it. I do a lot of sketching, and I find it gives me the same feeling with more practical and enjoyable results.

Has anyone here stuck with this for the past 6 years? And If so what benefits have you received from it? You should have an I.Q well above 150 if you did it properly.
