can lucid dreaming help me open up?

      hi all!
so i've been interested in lucid dreaming for a while now but i haven't had a lot of time to sleep lately. but right now im feeling determined as ever to try it.
its the weekend and i dont have to be up until 3 PM tomorrow.
ok time to get to my point... for the past couple of years, i've been struggling with a problem. social anxiety disorder. my fear of people has stopped me from doing so many things that i've wanted to do and im sick of it.
i started a new school a few months ago and due to my huge fear of making the first step in a conversation with people, i haven't met hardly anyone and i'm pretty depressed. ive never been rejected before so idk why i feel this way.

so i was wondering, would it be possible for lucid dreaming to change the way I think??? i really want to break out of my shell but my fears win every time. i know that people aren't as scary as they seem but my emotions and knowledge seem to disagree with each other.

It's very possible that lucid dreaming could help you become less shy.

If you use lucid dreams to practice interacting with and meeting new people (in your mind, with good results), you could become more confident subconsciously. If anything, it wouldn't hurt!

Absolutely. Have you read LaBerge's book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming? If not, definitely give it a read. It very well may change your life. He talks about many ways in which a person can change something about themselves through lucid dreaming, and he includes several lucid dreamers' personal stories that attest to that. It's all quite inspirational stuff.

I am VERY excited for you. Keep us posted!

When I get nervous in situations, I like to pretend its a dream and the people around me are dream characters. If you can really get into a dream state of mind, it really eases tension, considering good dream etiquette makes good life etiquette. To get decent control of your dreams, you have to keep a positive and purposeful state of mind as to get things accomplished and you have be anticipating unexpected dream character reactions. Also, you want to act, because if you wait too long you might wake up.

      Hopes this helps

I suppose once you become really good, you could theoretically work on social skills in your LD. With all the power at your disposal, you may want to throw fireballs at your bullies and imitate some swanky teen. I don't see it not working, worth a try anyway.

People are more scary than they seem. We just hide it well.
There is no guarantee it will affect you in the way that you want it to though. Overcoming any fear is possible and a common reason people start LD.

There are alot of researchers who claim the same. I think dreaming is the way our mind programs ourselves in any way we want. If we can take control of the programming, we can take full control of our life in any aspect..

Dreaming is like an advanced form of thinking.. on a scale you would have thinking, daydreaming, and then dreaming. so yeah, even through normal thinking you can change the way you think, so it should be even easier to change the way you think, and the way you are through dreams. afterall..
we are what we think we are.

I think, in the future, dreams will become like the second world that everyone knows as well as the first , real world. When you are young, lucid dreaming comes completely natural, if we keep practising that skill so we don't lose it, everyone should be able to become a lucid dream master at young age, way before graduating, and using dreams as their main way of solving problems. I believe, the closer humanity gets to understanding the brain and its processes, the more important dreams will become in our normal way of life, and especially in science. so one day, in the far future, dream control, or atleast, visualization control will be an important part of our educational system. Just like you have math.

Our minds actually creates a virtual 3D dreamworld all the time when you are awake. Everything you see is just a dream based on electronic data coming from your eye-nerves. What dreams do, is use memories instead of that electronic data coming from our senses. That's why dreams can be as real as reality.. because, what you see in reality is actually a dream based on your senses. Colors for example don't exist. Colors are a part of that dreamworld you call reality. Visible light has different vibritations, and our brain, transforms the difference in the vibrations into colors. Which in reality, do not exist. In reality theres only waves of light vibrating at a different frequence.. colors are your imagination. And this is just the tip of the iceberg..

All these things I only recently found out! I didn't know colors, and the whole world as you see it only exists in our mind
