I've read it, and I see why lucid dreamers consider it the lucid dreaming Bible.

It's a great book, I've read it many times and keep a copy just for reference.

Own it, read it, I think it's fantastic.
Didn't help me have any more lucid dreams, but it did help me understand what lucid dreaming really was.
Now that I'm getting much better at having them, I'm looking forward to rereading the book with a better appreciation!

I have read it completely through once. I often read a chapter here or there, just when Im thinking of LDing.

I haven't read it yet but I'll read it this summer!

What is so good about it?

If it wasn't for EWOLD, you probably never would have heard of lucid dreaming. Like others have said, it's the LD bible.

Is it more beneficial in helping one attaining lucidity than this website, in your opinion?

I would say they serve different purposes.

While there are of course introductory tutorials on this site, the strength of Dreamviews is the community - being able to discuss lucid dreaming real time with other people interested in it. The fact that it is a dynamic repository of information allows for continuous invention and feedback for new (and old) ideas related to lucid dreaming.

LaBerge's book is more of a basic textbook that introduces you to concepts and methods (including some not widely discussed on Dreamviews) in a linear fashion, as well as providing chapters on different ways in which lucid dreaming can be used or experienced for maximum personal benefit.

Bought it, read it, passed it along. I don't know if it is the best book on lucid dreaming (as I haven't read any others), but I can only assume, and either way it is the only one you would ever need.

I didn't find it useful myself, but it was an alright read, concise, linear, and not too dry. I have a technique that works for me though, so I really just read it out of interest. It would have been tremendously useful had I not known anything about lucid dreaming, but otherwise, probably not worth a read (might be alone in this opinion). That is why I have since passed it on to a friend who expressed interest in lucid dreaming, hopefully sometime he will do the same.

As a note though, I pretty much had a lucid dream every night I read the book, so that was a bonus.

I read it, it is the greatest book on lucid dreaming that you can find. Stephen LaBerge really did an outstanding job with all of his research.

Yeah I'm gonna read it to! Do you know any other books on lucid dreaming that are worth reading? Like the book from Carlos Castenada, I started reading that one, I didn't come to the point where hes talking about lucid dreaming yet, but its also a very interesting book..

I should get that book. Play.com is my friend.

yes i've read it! .. it's basically the bible for lucid dreaming. It helped me have my first lucid dream when i was 13. With that, I recommened it to everyone.

Jdeadevil! you should get to reading that book, it will help you out a lot

For $7.50, I can't imagine a good reason why any serious lucid dreamer wouldn't have this book.

I've owned my copy for 4 years and probably read it cover to cover at least 8 or 9 times. It's a fantastic book and I take it on all my holidays.

Yeah, I was already LD'ing on my own for a while before I stumbled across this book, shortly after it was published. I was pretty surprised to find out that people other than me were doing this. And in dreaming laboratories of all things. I was so excited about it that I was able to really progress, just from knowing I wasn't alone.

since then I've read it so many times I couldn't tell you. That's actually how I found DV. I was looking for something new to read, to satisfy my craving for Lucid Dreams during the waking hours.

I would say it's definitely a must read for anyone serious about Lucid Dreaming.
And even if your not serious about it, it's still good to read.

I'm thinking about renting this... Does anyone have a page count???
