Question Dreams Can Make No Sense, but Can They Be Ridiculous?

We fly or do something unreal in our dreams. However, because they are so unreal, make no sense, and unrelated to the reality, they are called dreams. The dream I had last night is RIDICULOUS to me.

I am a piano teacher, and from time to time, I am worried a little bit about students' not progressing enough to meet judged performance requirements. However, why did I dream about this 16 year-old male student PARTICULARLY last night. He is just one of my students. We had an affair in my dream. We kissed so passionately and sensually in the dream, but the feeling of that kissing was so fantastic that I wanted more during half-asleep/half awaken state. Although while I was half awaken, I knew that it was a dream and SO VERY ridiculous, my mind was so confused about the reality that I have no feelings for him as a man.

I could not fall asleep completely, after recognizing the dream. I was not sure how long I struggled in bed before I completely woke up, probably more than several hours. My head was so heavy when I woke up.

Why did I have this dream? He is not anybody in particular I care about more. Not to mention about the romantic part; so ridiculous!

Thanks for your replies in advance

You mayb have feelings for someone else but it seems unreachable. It could just be a dream of course. Im someone that doesnt really believe that dreams MEAN anything, but i think there used to sort out memories and experiences. I wouldnt really be shocked.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Just don't let this affect your relationship with this student...

But still as you said, dreams are strange things. I also have dreams where I wake up thinking "why?". In this case however, I think you should just put it out of your mind. The more you think about it the more it will affect you.

      Two possible interpretations:

      1. Dream romance doesn't necessarily suggest physical romance. It might simply represent a strong professional desire to connect with and help this student. In the dream, the platonic desire is exaggerated and confused with romantic imagery.

      2. The student stands in for a more generic quality that you desire. Maybe he is tall or smart. The student is just symbolically associated with the quality.
I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.

Good for you, Torriatte and Raspberry! Right no shortcut! You could dream that you walk on the piano all over without practicing, but in reality you have to
