Oh and I forgot, bright light, specifically the bluer wavelengths of sunlight, makes the pineal swell with endogenous tryptamines (serotonin, melatonin, DMT), while darkness releases them. So if you want their benefits for lucid dreaming, get some outdoors time in and use those "full spectrum" lights in your house. I don't know how supplemental melatonin plays into DMT production, I feel most of the info on the internet is false.
