      What was this exactly?

Hi, well I was trying to take a nap today. Well after awhile there was a white flash and my body felt really heavy and the white flash happened a couple more times and each time my body just sank and got heavier, and after about 20 mintues my arm started going numb and it became more intense and was starting to move up my arm to my back. Do any of you know what this was? Thanks for any comments posted.

You were experiencing the onset of sleep paralysis. It happens to you every night when you fall asleep, but this time you were awake enough to remember it.

      sweet stuff

      !!!

This is the occurrence known as SP, or Sleep Paralysis. It's completely natural. Most of the time, we aren't aware that it happens. But it's possible to be conscious of it by doing the WILD technique, or Wake-Initiated-Lucid-Dream. You can look at how to do it in the Tutorial section, if your interested, and if you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask.

hey stephanie, well that there seems like sleep paralysis to me. Seems as though you must have had some hynopogic (sp?) imagery, if you had stayed conscious you may have been able to go right into a lucid dream... lucky lol
      I have a dream...

Oh wow, well thanks all of you. I noticed that I can do this pretty much whenever I want, so hopefully it will help me with lucid dreaming =D

How do you do it whenever you want? Does it just happen naturally when you nap? Or do you put yourself in some state of mind to make it happen?

Well I just lie down and let it happen. Now that I've looked it up I have a better method to it.
