Voice recordings as a dream journal?

Is it ok the just record yourself describing your dream rather than writing it down? I'm not sure if writing stimulates different parts of your memory or something. It just seems like it would be easier to grab my MP3 player and record myself when I wake up than to write something down.

I use a mp3 player for recording my dreams. I'm just very lazy for write down my dream in the middle of the night. In the morning when I wake up, or when I have time I save all my dreams in the computer, for keep them better organized.

Well, if you're going to go that route... image stream. There are very clear benefits to this.

That's pretty much what I do, but I use my laptop to record the dreams.

I believe the act of writing the dream down does help with dream recall. Not sure if a voice recording would work to the same effect.

I have a good audio recorder but I would never use it to record my dreams, I hate hearing my own voice in recordings and I would hate for other people to hear me every morning talking to myself, yeck. =P

i started writting a dream journal, iv now switched to a tape recorder, and personaly i think the tape redorder is much better because of that image stream site stated above. when i wrote the dreams down i described what was happening and the surroundings. but now i use the tape recorder and every detail flows out of me very easily. if i wanted to wirte all the details down on paper that i said on the tape recorder, i would be there all morning writting an essay. i find saying it outload with your eyes closed makes it a million times better and more detailed, because after a while , the small details will fade and if you havnt written them down you will forget them.
also, when going over previously recorded dreams, it is much better to close my eyes and listen to all the intricate details, rather than if i was reading them, i would have to keep my eyes open + my eyes busy, making it much harder to imagine.

but remember eveyone is different, that works for me
