All Im saying is I dont find the reason why you would have to be someone you "wish" you were in your LDs. I like LDing its fun to me, not a place where I try and be a completely different person. I like who I am thats all

You're still missing the point. Read Arby's thread slowly and carefully.

I think you got lost at the part about having someone to look up to...

That's not what it should be, if I got it right.. More like, a door into your real self.
Since most people usually never act as their real self, they most likely won't get to know their real self. This is why having that person in your dream, and getting to know it, will help you become yourself.

It's not about pretending to be somebody else, it's about being you.

Also, could this be like a Create-A-Dream-Guide technique?

      Ofcourse, I have loads of stuff I want to try out, problem is that I've still not achieved the skill to become Lucid when I want ;_;

And remembering my dreams is also a problem right now, so it'll probably have to wait a bit sadly

Heh, and they made you a moderator... you should exile yourself to the Beyond Dreaming forum for a day for being so arrogant lately.

I am going to answer the question you pose in your sig. So everything I am about to say is in reference to that.

      1) What most people describe as "me" or conscious thought is nothing more than the byproduct of the brain processing information. It's an illusionary simulation, and a bad one at that considering it lags 0.5 seconds behind reality. (The amount of time it takes your brain to create a conscious thought)

      2) The amount of information exposed in your conscious thought is rediculously small compared to the total processing power available to your brain. Depending on the source you quote (these are educated estimates after all, and will vary by individual) conscious attention is somewhere around 16 to 50 bits/ second for some activity, such as reading dream views (depending on which argument you like). Now compare this to the awe of (more varying estimates) 10,000,000 bits/s for eyes, 100,000 for ears, 1,000,000 for skin, 1,000 for taste and 100,000 for smell.

Saying you are able to tell that something is "real" when what it is to "you" is nothing more than a generated illusion from a 1/2 second ago is rediculous enough. But to insist it is accurate, verifiable and relatable to others when what you are getting is far less than a miniscule fraction of the real "reality", further processed and exformated into another less than miniscule fraction of presented information to your conscious thought is sheer stupidity and arrogance.

      1) I am being OrionStyles as described in this thread.
      2) Spamming the thread insisting that I am spamming when you could have sent a PM is juvenile. Especially since this thread was derailed by you in the 1st place with your snide comments.
      3) You suck, get bent, read some more etc...

      Argument over, moving along.

Along with an ideal persona (Amethyst), I'm also aware of an antagonist (Nix). If Ame would show up more often, I wouldn't mind being/watching her, but there is another side of me who does not come out but I still know it's there. I'd rather not call for one and have the other appear.

But at the same time, I do believe that dreams can tell us a bit about who we are if we look in the right places. It would be an interesting experiment to try and isolate the "narrator" of the dream aside from my own thoughts, or even to attempt to permit an alternate persona to take on the narrator role.

      Hmm...

      Hmm... interesting...

I think that it would be just as important if not more so to learn about nix as ame. If you feel there is an antagonist or non-ideal side of you, shouldn't you wish to face it? Or at least study it to discern it's true nature and then perhaps rid yourself of it forever?

For some reason all this reminds me of the episode "Back to Reality" in Red Dwarf.

      "Dwayne Dibley?"
