      Subconscious and Cartoons

Ok, i was reading some of the ideas for things to do once you become lucid. I thought becoming a character in family guy or roadrunner would be great but is it possible? wonder how that would work out. would you become a cartoon character too? someone try it out for me. also, i hear of someone saying "talk to your subonscious". can't you just tell it to like... give you a lucid dream every time you sleep?. also, i thought this would be a funny thing to show my friends. tell your subconscious to raise your right arm everytime you hear the word banana. haha. my friends would have fun with that. it's like "hey tim.... BANANA!" *right arm raises*

Hey there....I've actually had several LDs that were completely cartoon. They were alot of fun...I didn't actually get to see myself as a cartoon though b/c it was all first person and there were no mirrors and I just went along with it. I guess I watch too many cartoons.

      what about...

ok, so cartoon dreams are possible. what about the talking to your subconsious and "programming" it to do certaint things. for instance, i have an uncontrollabe urge to bite my fingernails and i really wanna stop. can lucid dreams help me with that?

When you really want to stop what? Do you just bite your fingernails when you become anxious or apprehensive?

The point of lucid dreaming and understandig the subconscious is the ultimately realise and comprehend your, what Carl Jung would define as, "shadow." This is the collection of flaws and faults within your character that you repress and in which are the cause of minor neurosis or whatever causes your anxious behavior. By understanding your shadow, the collection of flaws and vices, you may assimilate your flaws and either rectify them or embrace them in order to essentially develop characeristically.

The most effective way to learn is by making mistakes. This applies to developing into the person that you wish to become. If you understand your flaws rather than always focusing on your skills and affinities, you can properly plan efficient and effective strategies in life for the most success.

The most common problem and confliction that intercepts this mutual understanding and marriage of conscious with subconscious is treating the subconscious as an alien presence or a third party. In no way is the subconscious not related to you or a part of your body that you cannot control. In fact, you are always controlling it and it is always a part of you.

Once you can fully understand your subconscious, you will then become self-aware which is the goal of lucidity.

I could further elucidate this if I didn't explain it well..

I hope I have been enlightening.

I used to bite my nails down to a nub until my junior year of HS, then some guy I was out on a date with was like...wow what the fuck do you do to your nails? I was so embarassed I stopped biting them and now (about 5 years later) I have beautiful nails that all my friends admire haha, though I am an anxious person (Gemini by nature) and am always needing to do something so now I am always picking the crap out from under my nails which tends to annoy people I've noticed, but at least I don't have to deal with nubby nails or eating bacteria that gets on my fingers. I'm just saying, if you want to stop...just stop...don't dick around with this "speaking to your subconsious hooey"

      hey

i been tryin to stop but it's like impossible. i'll catch myself biting without even realizing it and slap my hand away. haha. i thought that since my subconsious is the thing that's bitin my nails (i bite them subconsiously), i figured i could talk to him(or her, hehe) and find out why i do it, try to correct it. i don't even know WHY i do it, might be out of habit, might be out of nervousness, i really don't know, but i really wanna quit.

p.s. if i'm gunna be posting on this forum i need to learn how to spell subconsious

      mmmmm...

that my artistic friend would be a pudding setting which incorporates nilla waffers and whipped cream into it's setting. i also think the artist put the three colored dots on the edge of the picture to try and distract you from the pudding and show that in the end, the function of eating pudding will always beat the form of three pretty dots. very good drawings btw. i was seriously considering getting into 3d art the other day because of it.(i'm a sophmore in highschool)

Thanks, I love to draw. As far as 3d art is concerned...its cool but I'm getting a bit burnt out...I miss the good ole pencil and paper...I think this computer is sucking the life out of me. But if you do go into 3d shit just make sure you are ready to be somebody's bitch...b/c thats all 3d artists are...ok animate the hair in this scene...or you only get to do the lighting, someone else does the scenery, someone else does the characters...and all you get to do is something stupid, its very specialized. That's why my major is good, its not just 3d design...its all computer design, so basically I can do anything from web to interactive to motion to video etc. And seriously...a bowl of pudding with waffers, banana slices and whipped cream...you're killing me. (In the freezer looking for ice cream at the moment) So much for my photo shoot next week...
