Actually Doing what is in your Dream before waking up.

The other day I had a dream where I was in an intense struggle with someone and was fighting. Then I woke up and found that I had actually hit my girlfriend (not really hard) who was laying right next to me.

And just yesterday, I was dreaming that I was yelling at someone who was picking on my friends, and I yelled "HEY!!!" out loud before waking up, waking up my girlfriend again.

Just wanted to know is this kind of thing normal, and what it is I can do about it?

      Thanks
      Allen

Most people, but not 100% of them, is paralysed during REM sleep when you have the most realistic dreams. The reason for the paralysed state, is to avoid the problem you have had; that you do the same things in real life as you do in the dream.
It sounds like you are not paralysed in the whole REM sleep, so theorethically, you may have symptoms to REM Behavior Disorder.
I recommend to go to this link:

I am not quite sure why this happens to you.
      Are you dreaming?

Isn't that called Night Terrors or something? Where you totally act out your (usually bad/violent) dream, gesture for gesture?

I think it’s just when you wake up and you’re so into your dream being real as you come out you act what you where just doing as sleep paralysis lifts off. Similar to when people wake up with a jolt when they have fallen in their dreams. Nothing to worry about I would say :-)

Yeah.. The only point where I act out what is in my dreams is right as I awake during intense moments in my dreams. I haven't acted out anything and then continued to sleep.

Something tells me your dreams simply get so intence at certain points that you temporaraly lose sleep paralisis to respond to this danger your brain sees as being possibly a real threght. There have been times where I've woke up in diffrent places then I fell asleep. o_O

Not only when waking up from a dream but falling into a dream to can be quite hillarious when one think about it afterwards. Like me some weeks ago. Took a nap during the day. Laying against the wall in my bed(Baaaaaad idea)... then some minutes later i drifted awfully fast towards a dream, without a paralysis. And in that dream was a football i kicked really hard.... really hard...

I would love to know if I'm actually saying in real life what I'm saying in a dream. I know that a few times I've woken up and shouted something like "get off of me!", or "f*ck you!". I think it runs in the family though, because sometimes I'll hear my brother across the hall muttering incessently for several minutes about random garbage, or my dad speaking in gibberish when he falls asleep on the couch, pretty funny .
