Content of Lucid Dreaming is based on..?

What you see in a lucid dream, such as the setting and what's in your field of vision.
Are they based on your own experiences (what you have seen before)?
So, let's say...would I be able to place the Eiffel tower in my dream to every precise detail, but I have never seen the tower before in my life.

Are they based on your imaginations?
If I cannot imagine something to the exact details, but I do know the basic form of it, the thing will come out in the basic forms

      Or real life?
Everything that's on Earth now is where they are in the dream

Thankyous for considering the question =]

hi! the brain is awesome at making stuff up. I'm sure you could be on a very detailed and intricate Eiffel tower, with details taken from things you have seen, like a photo of it from your childhood, that you don't even remember, and some stuff just made up. However looking at a photostream of the place you plan to visit during sleep can really help.
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus

      your mind creates everything...
the brain is so powerful that can create the sensation of flying, of breath underwater....
it can create beautiful scenes...based on what you seen in your entire life..
so yes, you can see, stand, and touch the eiffel tower....might not be EXACTLY the same, but it could be better..

and I must say that in dreams...you can experience sensations and feelings that are...oh my god...they are WONDERFUL...
I experienced them and are like orgasms ....ok

How about people? If you never got to know a person, but know what he/she looks like, can you emulate their personalities correctly?

So, in your dream you basically play God? You raise a finger thinking about mountains and mountains sprout out?

      both and none

almost every time i have a wake induced lucid dream, I start out in my room. I can do a scene change and end up at a place i've never seen in my life on the other hand. And when I become lucid mid dream....more than likely it's some place that I've never been.

As far as my experiences are concerned, it's a combination of reality, imagination, and other. I've never gone to New York in real life, but I have in my dreams, thanks to being addicted to Spider-man. I've gone to Las Vegas in real life and in my dreams. I've also gone to places in Europe, but I've never been there in real life or otherwise.

If it was only based on real life experiences, then we wouldn't meet up with those random DC's in normal dreams. We wouldn't be in those random places that we've never been too. It would be that much harder for a person to become lucid mid dream, because of the amount of structure we would be limited to.

So don't be surprised to dream about going to work. going to gotham city, or going to some undersea top secret research lab. Your mind is capable of taking you to all those places with ease.

While possible, that would be a task that required a lot of practice in dream control. A dream environment (lucid or otherwise) is basically an elaborate collage of symbols woven together by your subconcious. So anything/anyone you encounter will be a symbolic representation of some facet of your psyche (usually things you aren't aware of while awake.) Visiting the Eiffel would be possible, but it wouldn't look like the real Eiffel tower, as your mind would constantly be generating symbols that would interfear with and change the scene. The detail, however, would be as real as waking life.

If you don't know their personality, how would your perception of their personality be correct?
