Do you think stereograms could train the mind for lucidity?

This mite just be me, but when I gain full lucidity it's like the result of cracking a stereogram, everything sharpens up and becomes vivid!

Do you think that using stereograms on a daily basis could help the mind in becomming lucid?

      Any opinions please!

In short, no, I really very much doubt it.
A stereogram is just the relaxation of your eyes' lens which when out-of-focus of the actual plane but an image appears when the patterns on the page merge.
Your brain can then work out shapes and new images.
That's nothing to do with sleeping and becoming lucid.
It's like learning to drive in hope that it will allow you to have the ability to fly a plane.

This literally has nothing to do with it. Stereograms are just the particular focusing of your eyes such that two images overlap, giving you binocular vision of what was not visible at your normal focus and causing the image to become 3d.

It's even farther off than that, since in the plane you have to drive down a runway. In a dream, you don't even HAVE or USE eyes and muscles.

I think that is a good way to describe how it feels when you become lucid, and a creative idea as far as using it as a tool to become lucid.

I say try it out and see if it has any effect on your lucidity in dreams. If so, let us know; if not, let us know. The only way to really know is to try it.

I would think that it would probably serve best as a way to anchor thoughts of becoming lucid in waking life, and that perhaps if a stereogram shows up in your dream it will trigger lucidity just by the association. But, you never know.

The idea definitely deserves point for creativity!

Good point. At least sterograms and lucid dreams share that one characteristic .. they both have their sudden "ah ha" moment when everything we know about reality suddenly changes. Thx for the stereogram reminder. I haven't seen one in ages.

Which brings to mind a related, off topic subject -- holograms. If you've never bought one of those at one of those stores in the mall you're missing out. I bought a water faucet holo once. You could look around it, under it, behind it. All it was was a holographic "photo" in the middle of a piece of cardboard. I say, holograms can make you go lucid too. In 3 dimensions! They could do it because when you study one up close, your initial reaction is "Hey, this shouldn't be happening".

Yeh thanks for the thoughts so far, I may try it out with regards to looking at them a few times each day and see if anything gets triggered during sleep.

I don't get lucid very ofter usually after SP which hasn't happened for a while but if something drastic happens over night i'll let you know lol.

I use a 3d monitor, which is sorta like stereogram only your games/movies/photos are in true 3d (like in an IMAX/realD theater) and LD-ing is still way more emotionally and spiritually immersive but the 3d monitor is more... stable
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!
