Getting kicked out of lucid dreams

I am new to the lucid dream experience. I have had a couple of instances when I recgonized I was dreaming and tried to go lucid but got kicked out (for lack of better words). I am just wondering what is going on and how to, when you know you are dreaming, stay lucid?

      That never happened to me.

Maybe it's because you get too excited? Try to remain calm. And read this.

I just started a thread asking about the same problem. If you figure it out pass on a hint would ya?
I was running from something(?) and I felt like I was running through four feet of water. I then started pulling myself along when I thought this only happens in dreams. I then started to run fast and thought why not faster so I put myself in a car and seconds later I woke up. I always get excited that I have control I wake up after 10 seconds or so. Vary frustrating indeed.

This is a very common occurrence. This is typically affiliated with getting too excited (I'm guilty of this! ). A lot of people, discovering that they're lucid, get WAY too excited, and they wake up, only to be INCREDIBLY dissapointed! Luckily, there are PLENTY of ways to prevent this =]

      1) Rub your hands Together
-Upon becoming lucid, rub em' together! Focus on the touch of your hands coming together. Many people claim this works, and makes the dream more vivid.

      2) Spin around
      3) Focus on touch/sight/smell
-Sometimes just making the dreamworld more realistic can make it more vibrant! Becoming more vibrant can help you stay attached to it, and less likely to get too excited.

All it is believing that you can do it. Right when you become Lucid, do when of those 3 things (there are plenty more, those are just some popular ones) and tell yourself "im gonna stay in this dream" and try to calm yourself. This should work, but it takes some practise, just like everything else in the world.

its just exitment, most people get it on their first LD. you just need to stay clam, just accept the fact that you are lucid, tell your self that you are lucid, but not like "WOOOOOHOOOOO!!! IM LUCID!!" because that wont end well.

excitement usually is the problem. but if you find yourself calm and collected before you "get kicked out" then it is probably a stability problem. always make sure you do a reality check as soon as you have te feeling that you are dreaming. then when you know you are dreaming without any reasonable doubt you can start working on your senses. like touching and feeling etc. i always rub my hands. spinning doesnt seem to work for me, especially in my beginning stages of lucid dreaming. dont jump ahead of your self and take it one step at a time. good luck!

It is not the excitment. It is natural. I like to see dreams as the matrix. The brain being the narrator. When you are not aware that you are dreaming, you are bound to the rules in the world in which you think you exist. Upon realizing that it was a mere dream, you natrually want to wake up. Some part of you might want to continue on in the dreamworld. But a subconsious part of you and your brain, wants to go back to reality. Ofcourse your brain might think that it is not really time to wake up, and then force a dream of awakining upon you, but that is another matter.

The more you think about, that the dream is lucid, the more you think about waking up which means u WILL wake up. Even in dreams which i consider half lucid, typically as a young child. I would be dreaming i was chased, and then tried to just exit at all costs. And every time it worked.

So do not try to ''calm down'' and think to yourself this is NOT a real dream. Instead just do something else. Kill someone (typically if someone is chasin u ), picture yourself in a different distination anything.

The best tip is really just play along with the brain. I also find my best dreams and most interesting dreams, to be dreams in which i was not lucid. I actually often become annoyed when becomming lucid and i try to restart the dream from a earlier point. Something which often leads to completly different dream, but sometimes it works

      TLDR

Upon realizing you are lucid, enjoy yourself, dont think to much about lucid dreaming (or do not think about it at all) but instead just do exactly what you want.
