How real does Lucid Dreaming get?

Hi there, I've been lurking for a few days, finally decided to register as I really want to try Lucid Dreaming.

I haven't actually experienced it yet, I'm 16. But I'm hoping to real soon.

The question I would like to know is, how real does Lucid Dreaming actually get? Can you feel the wind on your face, can you taste as well as you can in the real world? How real is it honestly?

Thanks guys, hope to see you around on this forum!

Well, my last few lucid dreams have been quite realistic, especially the first time I WILDed. I read a tutorial made by BillyBob on how to increase clarity and vividness and it really works. Here's the link: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=45847
Lucid dreaming makes for a wonderful night's play.

It's scary how real it can get. So much that it's often said it feels more real than real life. I remember one full lucid - I could feel the cold outside, see the smoke from my mouth, feel the wind, see and feel detailed textures. Very cool. The only problem I still have, is that I can't keep myself from waking up. One thing I did notice is that the later in the night/morning I have the dream, the more detailed it is. The REM stage does get longer after each cycle, perhaps it's the quality as well.

As Bonsay said, sometimes the realismn can really freak you out. I remember a lucid dream where I was flying over this huge field with flowers, and I could feel it all. The wind resistance, and every texture was just as detailed as real life. Whenever I would touch anything and look at it.. I mean.. it could might aswell just have been real life!

But it actually is wierd yeah, sometimes it can feel MORE real than... real life <_<

Yeah it gets realistic. I'm actually surprised your asking this. Looks like you need to do more lurking.

My first WILD was so realistic that I actaully lost my lucidity and thought I was awake purely because everything was too real to be a dream.

I find that my lucids get more realistic if I stop and pay attention to the detail. I can feel the cool breeze on an autumn day, or, alternatively, the summer heat. I can see every blade of grass, smell the scent of flowers, even taste things. Yeah, it gets as real as (if not more than) reality.

I think it depends on your state of mind, awareness etc. I remember one dream where it seemed as though it was real life, another where it was better then real life. The grass was a beautiful shade of green and was slightly glowing, there was a million stars and the trees had an aura. It was so beautiful... If only life were like that

Then you would dream of something better. Try to think your desires through.

Either way, lucid dreams are pretty much as realistic as everything you experience in real life. It's as if your imagination was given the power of your waking perception. Which it pretty much is.
