Quiet , serene lucid dreaming . Is that possible ?

This question has been on my mind a while , but i am not Lucid so i've got to ask you experienced ones . Is something like that even possible , or do you always have to DO stuff in your dreams ? What i mean is , for you experienced lucid dreamers out there that have the possibility to set yourself a task , can you just imagine a nice beach with a sunset , sit there and look around abit and enjoy your surroundings ? And sortoff keep it like that ? Whether you want it like that is ofcourse a different question i guess...

If i am thinking too simple , just tell me know nothing about it naturally

But i hope you know what i mean , i always read about you people fight dragons , fligh to the moon , shoot fire out your arms etc . This is a bit the opposite , you just stand there and look / feel what is happening.

Is it also even achievable practically? Is the dream not slipping away from your control and such if you don't do stuff ?

I read in the stabalizing guide that it's best to keep doing things, from my few lucid dreams I found that when I started thinking about real life I fell out of the dream, and if you're just sitting on a beach your mind would probably wander. You can do anything in a dream, it's just your imagination, it's just that most people want to do things that aren't possible in real life.

sure you can have a nice, peaceful lucid dream. if you're "not doing anything" you may just be more in the moment than you would be otherwise. one time i was standing on what looked like the deck at my house just watching some birds flying by, other times i've enjoyed the landscapes without a strong urge to do something cool before i woke up. in fact, one of my favorite places to be at in a lucid is a particular beach i like.

It is possible, has been many times staring just at some sort of place I think is cool, like that zombie-filled bridge in a giant river with a cool sunset (That is peaceful for me), or the time with the giant churchs, or the time with the nice forest.

Wow cygnus , that is sort of what i was thinking about . It sounded allmost "peacefully" in the words that you wrote too i must say haha

Beeing "in the moment" could you stay there if you would want to , atleast for a while ?

I can imagine it is completely impossible to not have things happening out of the blue in your dream , nothing is stable , your unconscious mind wil allways come up with something new. Complete controll might not even be wanted sometimes. But the continued "in the moment" as you say is indeed what i mean.

well, i think one of the more fundamental skills in LDing is to remain in one location instead of shifting into another. so yeah, try it out!

I just have this thought suddenly , that it might be both the easiest and most difficult thing together ???

easy : if your mind-set happens to be that way.....sortoff
difficult : if you would want it to be that way ....

It's a controlling of the moment AND letting it go ?? Which things do you want to controll and which things not ? Difficult to put into words.
      hmmm , just a thought , i don't know

You can do that, but I have found out that if nothing happens my concentration for the LD is loosened. You just have to focus for the peaceful emptiness. If you don't you might get carried way and your mind might summon something, like in regular dream. That could lead for LD turning into normal dream.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

Ive been interested in this for a while. Its interesting to read all the responses. My lucid dreaming experience is very limited, but whenever i think about lucid dreaming it is not the flying or doing things that you cant do in real life that appeals to me.

What appeals mostly to me would be to have a lucid dream of walking on a beach on an island with a enormous mountain filled with vegetation on one side, with rocky outcrops and waterfalls... Just an amazing scene that i could explore.

Does this seem like a viable dream? Or would one need to keep speaking to people and turn trees into carrots for the lucid dream to continue?

I guess i just need a bit of encouragement that one day i will be able to explore these magnificent scenes...

If i ramble on here just ignore me , i probably suffer from NRAS (Noob Restless Anxiety Syndrome) It seems to me that what i was thinking of is actually a really hard thing to do.

Typical : you want to lucid dream , you think of what it should be like , and what you come up with is ......complete controll.
Better learn to fly first , it's easier i guess !
To do this quiet / serene type of dreaming really consistently one needs a whole lot of practice or you're just lucky . (in the moment at that moment)

It seems a quiet serene state of mind is difficult to achieve both in real life and in dreams ?

Yes. You will still have to deal with DCs coming up to you, but with practice it's definitly possible.

depends on how long you want it to last- I've had a nice experience where I just sat in the middle of an alley near my house on the concrete pavement, just breathing and enjoying the scenery around me, with my arms outstretched- that was very nice.
