      Just some thoughts:

Being bored with something generally happens to me when I've experienced it very much all on my own and maybe even mastered it. However these things become fun again once other people are involved, positively or negatively. Positive people offer insight and help one grow, while negative people challenge beliefs and ability.

If anybody were to become bored of such things like lucid dreaming, yet still really love it deep down, then I would say take it to the next level. And there's always a next level; sometimes that next level just might seem outlandish or crazy. Write a book about it, go on national television and talk about your beliefs about lding, actually learn how to share dreams with other lucid dreamers, open a lucid dreaming school, learn to lucid dream while awake, etc... do the impossible, do the things that haven't even been discussed on sites like DV before. Get better at lucid dreaming than even a shaolin monk would ever be. : P The frustration felt when these things are actually *gasp* difficult, will probably ignite one's passion, If they truly still love what they do.

And it may very well be possible that one doesn't love what they do (LDing) anymore. That is perfectly acceptable in my humble opinion, just as long as a person does have something they are absolutely driven to accomplish in life at all times.

word. I agree wholeheartedly with you Richter.....in a sense after years of climbing (rocks) I got 'bored with it', but I think I just lost perspective....as soon as I started helping others with their climbing, it became exciting again, and 'teaching' helped develop my love of the sport - i don't think i could ever become bored with it.....as long as i'm struggling through the difficulties - and you're right, helping others helps! i know this isn't dreaming, but hey, maybe some fools are right when they say life is a DREAM....which certainly doesn't detract from its significance in my opinion

oh, you know, I want Lucid Dream because I know I can improve my life in a lot of things.
but the most important thing, is that I want to know that I'm dreaming because I want to see the things my mind creates, it's just INCREDIBLE AND MAGICAL, that's the main point, I want to be lucid to watch the world of dreams, to feel them, to play with them, and to evolve, me , and my dreams.

but of course, like almost everybody, would be fun to fly, have superpowers and that...
but that is in second place, really.

Complete godlike control over a dream is just a myth. Impossible unless maybe you're some kind of zen master. A misconception held by people with little to no LD experience.

Likewise the idea of getting bored with lucids is total bullshit. The people who make these claims should be able to offer the rest of us amazing insight into control and how dreams work in general. But they never do, they just make that ridiculous claim and never have anything more to offer.

      Bullshit I say!

If anyone becomes bored with the ability to experience anything they want, as real as real life, they don't deserve that ability in the first place.

That's quite a romantic idea about lucid dreaming that you have here

I don't usually do insane things like flying and stuff, I try to make up characters, sometimes I make pianos appear and I effortlessly make up songs and I can remember them perfectly when I wake up.
