Ironic Lucidity from Sibling.

Awhile back, I was obsessed with obtaining lucidity in my dreams, and frequented in lurking this site (obviously, decided to go from lurker to member). I was constantly doing reality checks, looking up on induction methods, writing in my dream journal every night, etc. I was so excited about this concept of lucid dreaming that I got my younger brother involved. He thought the idea was also thrilling, and too became mildly fixated on this goal. We would talk about dreams we had, about closeness to becoming lucid, and do reality checks throughout the day.

Now, I had been into all this for a few months, I'd say, my brother for a couple weeks. Then on one day in his second week he said that he had had a lucid dream. I was excited for him (if not a bit jealous), then he told me how he had realized he was dreaming.

We were in our house, playing a video game, when all the sudden, I turned to him and said, "I think I'm dreaming." And I was looking at my hands, doing one of my frequent reality checks. He then noticed that I had more fingers than average, and bam, was lucid himself, in which he did many fantastical things, like being Link from the Legend of Zelda, battles, so on and so forth.

I just thought it was funny that after all my efforts, I helped someone else be lucid, yet not myself.
