I've had a generally negative experience with this. When I first stated LD-ing it seemed so amazing and exciting that I just had to tell people. Though most responded like I was weird or crazy, and the best responses were lukewarm. Now I have many IM contacts and also DV that I can talk to about dreams, so I'm ok with not sharing it with people around me, as long as I get to share it with someone anyone I'm fine |

TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus

I've only told one friend. He believed me when I said it was possible, and was fasinated when I told him of some of the research done on it, but he didn't try any much himself.
He likes to tease me about it whever I mention it now, but I guess he'd stop if/when I get any good at it :pApril Ryan is my friend,

Well, when I told my dad a few months ago he acted interested. And we had a very long discussion about dreaming last night (where i got to show off all my knowledge about sleep and dreaming that i learned from this site; he was impressed
)
My mom thinks I'm crazy.
My cousin and brother LOVE the idea. They want to try it SO badly but they're young and they dont have enough patience...
The friend that got me into Lucid Dreaming ended up quitting....
And the rest of my friends give me weird looks....Number of Lucid Dreams Since Joining: 12

Many people I tell seem to take lucidity as a joke, which is very frustrating >.> A lot of my friends(mostly the female ones, I've noticed) will listen to me and tell me of their run-ins with lucid dreaming or things related to it - waking up in sleep paralysis, DEILDs, etc. I've only convinced one person to actively attempt lding. A few times there's been an influx of people who say that they get lucid dreams all the time(though I find it hard to believe them...)

Whenever I TRY to tell my friends about it, they look at me like I'm some gothic freak, lol. So I really don't bother anymore. *Sigh* they're missing out.

i'm lovin your quote Elucive. i bet most people would be intersted if they had a really nice high level lucid.
we all just have to be greatful that we are actually interested in ultimate freedom. i just cant believe that people wouldnt think much about it. its all so confusing.
but really, i dont care to try to make anyone practice lucid dreaming. im just glad that i can do it.
