I want to stop dreaming about my past.

The past month I been having dreams nightly. Every damn dream has been about my past as a child in school, A time in my life that was not so great. I wake up depressed, it stops me from taking control of my dreams.

I was having very good lucky with lucid dreams to. Then bam 1 week i'm having flash back type dreams and have not been able to go lucid since. Any suggestions on how I can focus on the future rather then the past?

Alot of times you dream about what is on your mind before falling asleep. Try clearing your mind a few hours before sleep and think positively. Easier said than done, I know. Just try and focus your thoughts on other things before bed and for that time period, let go of your past thoughts. Music, or television as you fall asleep may help keep your mind off of things. Good Luck!

Hmmmm, well, maybe if you were to use sort of auto-suggestion.

When you are going to sleep, keep saying to yourself things about the future. But of course you don't know anything about the future, but try questioning yourself about the future and that should keep your mind on the future rather than the past.

You need to keep saying these things to yourself until you fall asleep so that the last thing you have thought about before sleeping is the future, not the past.

Hope this helps, it may not. but i know auto-suggestion works for many things.
