      Was I lucid?

So I had this dream a couple of days ago. In the dream I had killed 50 cent (yes, he is a person) and when he was on the floor lying dead I decided to pick up a telephone and call the police on myself.
After I called the police I start running away but here is the freaky part. In my dream I felt that I was going to be caught and put away in jail for murder. After I realized that I threw myself on the floor and said "I have to wake up now" and almost on command my eyes shot wide open in real life and my body was completely sore and I was sweating.
Even though I forced myself to wake up via dream, was I lucid or was that my mind playing tricks on me?

      Hrm.

Well, by logic and your specific wording, we could say that you were.

But it really just comes down to the simple question, of whether or not you knew you were dreaming.

If not, then no, you weren't.

      Welcome to DV, btw

you exercised dream control at the very end to get out of a tight situation- that's very good. though I wouldn't quite call it a lucid.

By the way you said it, it seemed you knew you were dreaming which was why you wanted to wake up, in which case it was lucid.

But you might have meant it in a different way, like you could say in real life you just want to wake up (sort of a figure of speech). well, if you meant it like that, then you were not lucid.

I guess I wasn't lucid because I only found out I was dreaming after my eyes shot open. My eyes hurt for a while afterward because my face was facing the window and the bright sunlight blinded me for a bit, lol.

IF you didn't know you were dreaming IN the dream then you were not lucid. Keep it up!

      depends,
you might have gained lucidity right at the end of your dream, when you said you wanted to wake up. Depends whether you actually knew you were dreaming or not. Anyways if you ever have a dream like this one again, when you are in a tight situation and realize you are dreaming, just fly away or throw a kamekameha at the people following you
