Blind person with LD?

Hi, just curious, anyone know/hear about someone who were blind from birth having lucid dreams? What would they see, if anything at all? EDIT: of course they would see, but could they come up with something on their own?

If they are blind from birth, it is more likely that they will not see. But being in a dream, or a lucid dream has nothing to do with sight. For a blind person, what would probably happen is their dreams are just the other 4 senses. And they would become lucid by realising they are dreaming, just like anyone else. But it doesn't mean they will see. But it is possible they would see, they just would not be able to describe what was happening to them, because they don't know what "seeing" is.

Yes, I've wondered this myself, if blind people could see in dreams. An article on the sunject: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/12...body_dreaming/ I would imagine being lucid wouldn't make a difference for people born blind, but for those who became blind during life it could probably increase the clarity/vividness of whatever they see. interestingly the article gives part of the answer to another question: Most researchers agree that brain activity during dreaming functions to help keep body temperature stable during sleep

I think it's possible. I have discovered a new sense that I use in dreams that I can't even name. I am sure most would assume those blind from birth would never have dreams of seeing. I would like to hear from some people that are blind from birth to find out.

Maybe in some weird way, our eyes are really not the only way we can perceive energy in this or any other plane.

This made me think that LDing might be really attractive to someone who had lost their sight at some point in their lives. Or even their hearing. You could LD and have those senses restored.

Well, possibly. If the person could feel something and get a good sense of what its features and properties are, then they could basically "picture" it in their minds, and perhaps even see it later. The colors would probably be mangled and the exact shape would most likely be different, but they could essentially "see." However, the limitations of colors could be problematic. How could a person blind from birth have any idea what "red" is? They're pretty much limited to black and white, if that. But yeah...creating a sense from scratch...interesting stuff.
