Thread: Am I special?

I had no idea until a few months ago that people COULDN'T control their dreams.

I've always been able to control my dreams & thought everyone could. Sometimes I can decide exactly what I want to dream, others im basically given a scene & direct it from there. I'm always aware im dreaming & if I wake up in the middle of an awesome one I can usually go back to sleep later & carry it on.

My nightmares are when I have a dream I cant control, maybe im not special..Just a control freak

Some people are natural lucid dreamers. This is actually quite common. Most people train themselves at a young age how to dream lucidly to prevent nightmares.

Oh okay, so you thought that everyone was naturally able to control dreams without teaching themselves how to.
I am okay at lucid dreaming but have bad dream control so that's not the case for me anyway. I guess you are gifted with this natural ability but I wouldn't call yourself special because that's a synonym for retarded.

I would say you have a gift like an artistic skill for example. Some people are born to draw and some people have to learn how to draw. We are all special no matter what skills we do or do not have

I've heard of other people who can control their dreams at will, so you're not special. And with 6 billion people on this planet, trust me there are probalby a lot more who can.

Yes, you are special, in the sense that natural lucid dreamers and people who have lucid dreams so easily/often are rare. (I have a co-worker who sounds much like you in regard to dreaming; I'm totally jealous.) I'm delighted to hear you have such a wonderful dream life!
