      Theory on dry spells?

      recently i had a small dry spell of a few weeks.

      i lost recall, and/or didn't even have many dreams. no lucids, of course, either. really weird.

      suddenly, everything is just seemingly back online like before. maybe even a little richer.

      anyone know why this happens?

      i would call myself beginner-intermediate... maybe i get one good lucid a week - or two. recall 5 - 7 dreams a week and get one truly great vivid lucid dream a month. and all sorts in between.

      have been practicing regularly since Aug. - mix between Wilds and Dilds.

      I think dry spells can happen for a variety of sometimes overlapping reasons. The biggest factor is often stress, though--stress has a habit of practically killing recall, and with recall goes everything else.

      I wish i could figure out what causes them because i have huge on and off recall. Last year i couldn't get through a night without waking up with 5 dreams this year i black out and wake up feeling like i laid there for a few seconds and just jumped 8 hrs into the future.
      Goals
      Learn about LD's [X]
      Improve dream recall 1x per night [ ]
      Enter SP [ ] Perform transition to WILD [ ]
      Remember a lucid dream [X]

      I've noticed that whenever I seem to be having a recall dryspell, lots of other people seem to be having them at the same time, and for the same amount of time.

      Either that, or someone I know will get over a dryspell just as I am going into one. Almost like it's contagious or something.
