So I talked with my Mom....

We went bowling together today...First time i've seen her in awhile and I started talking to her about lucid dreams and what not. Then she began to tell me how the Pfizer prescription pills give her crazy wierd vivid dreams, so I asked her for one, only one just to see if I can turn it into an amazing lucid. But what are you're thoughts on this, do you think it can help?

Eh...I don't like relying on lucid aids, personally. It's so much easier in the long run to just train yourself how to become lucid the "good old fashioned way." And...I'm pretty sure sharing prescription drugs of any sort, even amongst family, is illegal. I wouldn't go messing around with the stuff if I were you...Quietly protesting the 10 character limit.

And quite frankly, not to mention stupid. They are prescribed to her, not you. For all you know you could be poisoning yourself. And most likely the vivid dreams are a small side effect.

Actually. I know exactly what it is. It's a prescription to help her stop smoking. I smoke....so there is no harm done here. Any smoker can go buy it over the counter. Let's just say I bought it.

That changes things a little, but still, you're trying to get Lucid with a drug to help smokers quit. Lucid aids give you better chances than a drug with no relation to dreaming.

Not to be a downer but if you really wanna see what the pill (probably Chantix) is going to do to your dreams you might wanna take a break for a few days beforehand from smoking mary jane, i cant speak for everyone but theres a common consensus that its not the best for recall so even if the pill gives you some crazy dreams you might not wake up remembering them in as much detail.

Well after trying that pill. I did have quite a few dreams. I was able to write them all down. I used like 5 white papers. I'm not using those pills anymore unless I use them down the line to quit smoking. I did have some weird dreams. I wish I could of just told myself I was dreaming. I gotta use mantras more. Cause they were all weird dreams. A female dog turned into a big black bitch.(no pun) but the definition of bitch is female dog. Lol. I didn't see the transformation, its just what it is.

Regardless of the factoring in of pills or other substance-based lucid aids, I tried mantras for the first time last night and caught myself having trouble keeping my eyes open. I told myself I wanted to have a dream where I could actually see everything, and BAM - fourth lucid dream! First lucid dream I actually got to use to do anything with - did the basic TotM for January, just checking to see if I really did it correctly at the moment, but I think asking someone for grape juice, and drinking it, constitutes completion of the task.

But, while I don't discourage the use of lucid aids, I'd say stick with mantras like "I will have a lucid dream", or "I need to do a reality check tonight" will probably help you a lot more than you think. Give that a shot and tell me how it goes - it's worked great for me thus far!

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
