Awesome idea! Unfortunately, you may never know if it had worked or not. Your mind could easily create a false memory/situation/event. it may seem real, but then again, it may be completely different from the true memory. It would still be very cool to see what your mind could come up with.

Ok, here's an idea. I've been meaning to do this for a long time, but sadly, I'm having difficulties with my lucidity.

I'm sure there is at least one really old photo album which you haven't looked at for a really really long time.

Relive it! This could be your birthday or whatever. Recall one detail to induce the whole atmosphere around you. It requires high lucidity and concentration. But be aware you are communicating much more easily to your subconscious mind. Now, think of a person who you know was there and invite her in, concentrated on her... precise appearance at that time - most importantly clothes. Remember several details and well, after wakin' up, blow off the dust of that photo album and enjoy.
Come on! What if Martin Luther King said: "I kinda have a dream... nah, I don't wanna talk about it."

I think it's possibly that we might have more access to our brain while in the lucid state.

I've relived two memories before through dreams, but I wasn't lucid. They were memories from when I was around 3 to about 5. I described to my mother what happened in my dreams and she confirmed that those events that I dreamed of really happened. It would be pretty interesting to see if I could intentionally relive an old memory. I might try that as one of my lucid tasks even. I would like to try using a tv and switching through the channels until I found a memory I wanted to experience again.

Lucid dreaming makes for a wonderful night's play.

This is one of my main goals! There was another thread a while ago where people said they'd managed this- and found a missing item.

I agree. Old memories can be accessed through hypnosis. Having never been hypnotised, I have no way to compare it with lucid dreaming, but I suppose it seems like a similar state.
