Unbearable and intense hallucinations during SP

I've been searching through the forum but have been able to find the answer to this particular problem.

During SP i almost always experiance extremly loud roaring and intense vibrations. I tell myself that the sensations are not real and that they are hallucinations, i lie there and wait for it to pass, i try to focus my mind on something else but it feels so real and unpleasant that i can't help but worry that it is dangerous and i have to force myself out of the SP.

Is it possible for SP to be dangerous? (i often worry that i'm having/could have a seizure, its seriously that intense)???

Please discuss any similar problems or suggestions.

From what i've heard...If you get really scared where its unbearable just change your breathing patterns to snap out of it. I don't think it can do any internal damage too you, but then again i'm not a Doctor. I wanted to add my 2 cents. I think the worst the can possibly come out of it is a anxiety attack which makes you feel as if you were dying.

Keep trying! Some people experience SP in different ways... I don't feel it at all! No vibrations or anything, it just happens right away. You obviously experience it to the extreme. Sometimes it's scary, but it is completely safe. Don't worry about it and wait it out, and you'll find yourself WILDing.

      Good luck!

I feel no vibrations or tingling or any hallucinations. All I get is heaviness.

You go through sleep paralysis every night, from what I understand. You're just not conscious enough to see or remember it. Sleep paralysis cannot be dangerous. The hallucinations are perfectly normal, and all in your head. They cannot hurt you physically.

It IS NOT DANGEROUS. The trick is to learn to like it. The fact that you are trying to avoid it is what makes it harder. It is like running against the wind or swimming upstream. Just go with the flow. Also, since you are not convinced that it isn't dangerous but that it might be dangerous encourages your mind create a situation that scares you. NO FEAR! You hear? NO FEAR!
Rollercoasters seem dangerous but if you let go and learn to like it you will have a fun ride. Take it as a good sign and don't try to think of something else.
You are not having a seizure, your body is still lying there all peaceful. I am not sure on the science of it but it is your dream body that is shaking. It can be fun.
I remember going to sleep once and becoming aware of a bird chirping outside my window. that is wierd, it though, a bird in the middle of the night. It became louder and louder and more birds and more birds until it was a roaring cacophony all distorted in my ears like when you play loud heavy metal music that blow out your speakers. But it was like being in a jungle on acid. And my body was shaking and shaking and it was like blasting off in a rocket with real bad turbulence. I LOVED IT! Then I figured that I was dreaming and I sat up on the edge of my bed and took a few steps and fell on the floor. My legs didn't work. I looked back at the bed and saw myself still sleeping there. I crawled back and layed back down in my body and the bird sounds came back but no shaking and then I floated up to the ceiling and then out the window and I was at some bazaar in Morocco.

Yeah, like Dannon said--it's not dangerous at all. It's one of those situations where you really only have to fear fear itself. In other words, you get yourself even more panicked and worked up because the situation is scary and then you're making it far worse than it really is.

My first experiences of SP were a lot like yours--very intense and sometimes even painful. It boils down to two choices: you can ride it out and be rewarded with a WILD, or you can bail if it gets too intense. If you need to break out of SP, one way is to focus on shaking your head. Just getting your head to move or twitch should break the SP. I strongly encourage you to ride it out--the lucid is more than worth it!--but at least I hope now you will be able to break out of it if you really need to, which can really help you feel "safer" and in control when it happens again.

Ok tonight i wil try to WILD . I suppose what you guys are suggesting is that i just relax and go with the flow, and I'll do my best to remind myself that it is not dangerous!

Just keep in your mind that things can never hurt you at all. You go through SP every day, the only difference is that you had it when you were concious, which made you see/hear those stuff more intenssly. Ofcourse, SP varies from person to person. I for one, never experienced SP -- Till now ... -- Again ... These stuff aren't dangerous at all and can never hurt you

So i had a SP experience last night and just went with it. Got some realy intense vibrations and noise but i did have a much better attitude towards the whole thing and keeping in mind what Dannon said about enjoying it... it was fine! solved my problem!

So in conclusion a positive mental attitude can be very useful.

It is a good thing. Intense SP like that, means you are far more likely to enter a dream lucid. As opposed to having a dull and boring SP where you just drift off to sleep, and are unlikely to remeber anything.

It can not hurt you at all, so nothing to worry about.

I had my first SP last night. You know how your foot falls asleep? It's like a quick vibration.

I got vibrations not as quick. Like my whole body doing that but in an enjoyable odd way. It starts as a classroom of kids talking and then about a second later becomes a LOUD ring. It was freakin AWESOME!
