Hello guys, I watched the discovery channel episode on lucid dreaming the other day, I was wondering if what they said is true. They said that during a lucid dream, a person could walk in through a door with the mindset to view a painting (because they wanted a new idea for a painting in real life), and when they would walk in the room, and the painting would be there ready for you to copy if you wished in real life. They used a guy as an example who's problem for work was solved in a dream (it was about a moon base or something). My question is has anyone ever had an experience like this where in their dream their mind created something like this, by asking it to as you walk through a door, or by other means. If so, do you think there is a lot of possibilities using this technique? I have not been able to test this for myself yet. Thanks, ID.

I'm positive that things like that are possible. For example if you realize you're lucid dreaming and you're in your house, but you want to go somewhere else you just have to think that if you open your bathroom door you'll go in there and woalah - you'll be there. I think this is a way to control yourself and your dream when lucid. When you have control in lucid dreams everything is possible There are also people here that say they can teleport instantly just by spinning around (haven't done that myself tho').

Absolutely. This is how a lot of people teleport. Ask for good scenery, or something pre-made.

On another lucid dreaming site, they creator of the site said that they had the idea for the layout in a lucid dream. They asked for an idea for how the site would look and the image appeared.
