      Best results aquiring LDs

      Hey everyone,

Just trying to get some good wee pointers on how to attain lucidity. I figure WILDing after several hour's sleep is probably the best way to approach it, but I was just wondering what you guys have had most success with - just out of curiosity.

Hope to hear back from you all soon,

      Sony

I've had good results with basic DILD (dreamsign-association based induction) and a couple DEILDs. I am working on WILDing, though I've only had significant results (no real successes, but good progress) when attempting during afternoon naps. Any other time, WBTB included, I've not been able to keep conscious and focused long enough.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

I hear ya. How many times have you been able to DILD? And what did you use?

      *points at my sig* 11.

For DILDs, I keep a regular and consistent dream journal, picked out certain dream signs I noticed were very prevalent, and do this reality check at various times during the day: I keep a piece of paper with writing on it in my pocket, and whenever I think to question my state of consciousness or notice a dreamsign in reality, I pull it out and read it, then look away and reread it to see if the text changed. Lastly, I look around and identify WHY I can tell I'm not dreaming.

I've attempted the use of the subliminal messaging program BrainBullet, but I have yet to confirm if this has helped or if it makes no difference.

Cool, man. How many times have you been able to become lucid because of your paper trick? That sounds pretty clever, I might try it myself if you don't mind.

Never, actually. It's the principle of making yourself question your surroundings, so in that way I've never actually used it to become lucid. Once, I imagined looking at it as a stabilizing trick, and for whatever reason it worked. I recommend it, it's a good thing to do to remember to RC.

Cool man, I'll totally give that a shot! My only problem is in my dreams I accept pretty much every abnormality as reality therfore making in-dream realizations extremely rare.. But possible. Like in one dream I had a third leg and thought it was completely normal, lol, but the other night I became lucid when I realized that being in Colorado (Where i live) so recently after being in Scotland (Where my mom lives) was too unlikely.. But I'm surprised I even realized that.

XD That's crazy, man! But yes, after doing RCs for several weeks diligently, you'll start questioning your dreamworld as well as your realworld.

Sweet man thanks for the advice - I needed some good re-motivation for my inner lucid dreaming entrepreneur.
