      Closing your eyes

In dreams and lucid dreams a like, sometimes when I close my eyes I can still see through them. Its awful. During nightmares, when I want to close my eyes and hide, I can still see out of them. If I try and bury my face in a pillow or a piece of furniture so I can't see anything, I can then see through the object.

      Anyone else experienced this?

When I was younger and had nightmares more frequently, this phenomena would ALWAYS happen to me. Whenever something terrifying would appear I'd try to cover my eyes, but it would never work. I really wish I had used this lucidity to take control of my dream, but I was always paralyzed by fear.

Don't think it happens to me, though that may be because I only close one eye and keep the other one open, generally use it as stabilization, but guess it can be used to teleport or get out of a nightmare if used correctly, like closing one eye and then starting to spin.

Has happened a few times with me. But it's always been pleasant. Usually in a more DEILD, WBTB or WILD type of dreams. I can just "feel" the eyes are closed, and I keep them that way because it's more comfortable, but I see out. Once looking through a window into a garden, and seeing a leprechaun type guy... then once looking up into the sky at the stars - thought I saw Orion's belt and looked it up where it should be the next day - it wasn't in the right place though. But yes, definetly... too bad it stays that way when you don't want it to though

Not me! Closing my eyes works as it should!

Actually, the last time I closed my eyes in a LD, it helped me accomplish flying, so... woot!

I always have this fear (when awake - this fear doesn't seem to bother me when I'm dreaming or lucid) that by closing my eyes, or losing sight of the dream will cause me to lose lucidity when I open them. What if what I see is something completely different and it sucks me right in?
