      "To be continued" Dreaming

      I have come to this site hoping to find other people who share similar experiences in their dreams. To start, all of my dreams for as far back as i can remember, are a continuation of the last. It is more like a second life than a dream. I have friends, enemies, and abilities that have been there for what seems like forever.
      In my dreams, i have several abilities that i dont in real life. Flight, and general energy manipulation. Though i have never been very good at flying... I have much more interesting information about my dream life if anyone is interested as far as characters, experiences, and general metaphysical anomalies, but the reason im posting this is to find others who have connecting dreams like i do. If you have knowledge on the topic, please share, but also share if you have your own experiences. Thank you in advance.

      O.o since you can remember? Whoa... err, but before everything else, welcome to DV, hope you like it here, and that you make a DJ!
      Anyway, are your dreams lucid or non-lucid?
      Also, since I learned to LD, started a dream life, but I need to teleport there to continue where I left, so it is a little different from you, still fun to do though.

      Thank you for the welcome. My dreams are not entirely lucid; while i don't necessarily know that my body is sleeping, i am completely aware of where i am, who is around me, and what i am capable of. There are people there who have remained consistent throughout. Also, i am not entirely sure what you meant by "DJ" lol.

      Ah, DJ is a dream journal, so that everyone can read your dreams, or the dreams that you write there at least, I would so enjoy reading them.

      A DJ is a Dream Journal. Some other common things you may hear:

      DV = Dreamviews
      DG = Dream Guide (can refer to staff or your actual Dream Guide)
      LD = Lucid Dream
      SP = Sleep Paralysis

      I know a good deal about SP and OBE's, but i have always skipped right through LD's in my research until now. I am new to forums in general and am simply amazed that people take the time and effort to answer questions for nothing in return, and converse with people that are obviously less knowledgeable on such topics.

      Who says we get nothing in return! I like dreaming a lot, so talking to people who have DJs makes it enough pay for me, after all, that makes me enjoy the dreams of others, quite fun.

      Well I like helping people! I always think of me and if I didn't know anything I would want answers. So I try to help!

      No kidding? That must be awesome. I have some recurring themes/characters/places in my dreams, but I can't usually pick them up the original storyline unless I go straight back to sleep.

      I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.

      Well, it gets even more interesting, and here is the part where i loose most people: The people i mentioned who have remained constant in my dream world... I call one my brother. I don't really know who he is, or who any of them are because i cant remember once i wake up. Even their faces are replaced by faces of people close to me in real life. For example, "my brother" uses my best friend's face. I know its not a representation of my friend because these will be the only people in my dream that speak with no voice, and without using their lips. Our thoughts are instantly transferred. Even more irritating, is i will remember a long journey with many conversations with these people, but upon waking, i dont remember their real faces, and i dont remember a word they said. i remember the central theme, and all of their actions but that is it. Also, they are completely expressionless. Its almost as if a familiar face is pasted on them. I know it sounds crazy, and i just summarized a lot of complicated ideas, however i will still appreciate your input.

      Weird, do you have any idea why you forget that stuff? Or more like, replace? Generally I don't have problems remembering the talk/faces of my reocurring characters.

      Wow. Looking forward to reading your dream journal. Yes, I do have dreams like this. I have for years and years, but I made myself forget them, because they made me wonder if I was crazy. Now, I remember them deliberately.

      I have a similar state of lucidity. I call this the Deep Dream State, you are aware of the dream plane, but unaware of the physical plane.

      Your brother sounds like your Dream Guide, a spirit guide that is there to help you in dreams. Your recall will improve as you write in your DJ. I also have a hard time remembering faces.

      I won't think you're crazy. I married the Moon goddess in a dream, and forgot about it for years. Then, she came to me in dreams, and forced me to acknowledge her existence. Oh, yeah. You're not crazy.

      Wow. I know exactly what you mean. I usually have to focus to pick up a dream right where I left it off, but there is a continuous progression to the dreams. I usually have the same set of dream skills, same friends and enemies... if I gain a power in one dream, that ability will still be with me in future dreams... That is cool that you do that, I can't wait to see it in your dream journal!

      p.s. DJ is the common abbreviation for Dream Journal.

      Wow, thank you for your detailed response "Walking Nomad." I'm going to attempt a DJ for the first time tonight, seeing as i FINALLY have a day off tomorrow. I'm going to set a series of alarms separated but 10, 15, and 20 minutes. Hopefully my wife doesn't mind all of the waking up lol.
