Thread: Does Bed Position Really Make a Difference?

Does having your bed facing north-south really affect your dreams and or lucid dreams? I 'think' my bed is facing North at the moment, but I'm not quite sure, have never really checked. I have had it in a few different directions, but am a bit limited on where I can place it since it's a King size bed and one of the four walls has a closet right smack dab in the center of it, so that direction is no good.

I haven't been remembering my dreams very well lately, although that's also most likely due to not enough sleep and broken up sleep, having to get up several times a night because someone's crying.

Anyone else notice a difference in changing the direction of their bed? I've been debating upon changing it again and see what happens.

It's more of a confidence thing, really, as are most of these superstitious things. IE, believe enough that "direction" will help you have LDs and you will probably have them more often.

I number one way to have them is to wake up for a little bit then go back to sleep, works about 40% of the time

Actually, those threads are not quite the same topic. Those talk about your body position in relation to the bed. "the beauty who sleeps" is asking about the actual position of the bed itself.

I recall when I was in college, a friend gave me a book to read that had to do with learning astral projection. I remember that one of the things it said was that you were far more likely to succeed if you had your bed facing north-south, with your head at the north end (and I think it said that it was best to lie on your back, also). Something about being in line with the Earth's magnetic field, I believe.

I don't know if I give much credence to this, especially in relation to lucid dreaming. My bed does face N-S, but my head is at the south end. Maybe some nights I'll try turning around and see if it increases my recall, lucidity, or control at all.

For me it's not so much the position of the bed or whether I'm on my back or side. For me, what helps most is sleeping in another location.. another room, on a couch, in a chair, etc. I think trying to sleep somewhere OTHER than the bed I normally sleep in helps me to get into the "body asleep/mind awake" state.

Yep I was more meaning the position of the bed, facing north, south, east or west etc, although those links are really interesting. The majority of the times I've woken up from a lucid dream, I was lying on my back, although I hadn't gone to sleep in that position. I find it difficult to fall asleep while on my back, unless I'm really really tired, but yes it does seem to work for hypnogogic images and LD. I tend to lie on my left side, one hand under my pillow and the other tucked under my chin, I guess in a sort of fetal position.

And thanks Clairity I've used this name for years now while in yahoo chat and it's sort of grown on me.

OOOPS Sorry about that. I assumed You meant the person on the bed. although it is quite clear after reading it again.
