      Exit Pain

Last night (aka five minutes ago ) I actually had one of my rare nightmares. To explain briefly what went on at the end of the dream; I was in the master bathroom putting something into the closet there (toilet paper I think) when all of a sudden I feel an exploding pain in the back of my head. The only way I can describe it is to just imagine staying conscious after being shot in the back of the head. Or at least imagine it in your dreams, because you'll never be able to guess at it in real life. So anyways, it was incredibly painful and I fell to my knees. Then, pain still present, it feels like an invisible hand grabs me by the neck and pulls me into the air and forward into the next room where I see my sister holding me up in a very darth-vader-ish way. So, hoping to high hell it was I dream, I reality check and immediately wake up. Okay, so the point of this whole thread is that I still felt a severe pain in the back of my head after waking up, and in real life it was almost tear inducing until it started fading after about five long seconds.

Okay, so I was just wondering, has anyone else ever felt physical pain upon leaving a dream, or just waking up normally? Or really, any easy to pinpoint physical sensation at all (meaning, not something vague like numbness or tingling).

You could of hit your head IRL(in real life) OR it was your mind.

Don't worry the brain is powerful, it can simulate these types of sensations

Well I know it was my brain, because my head was squarely on my pillow. I'm just wondering if anyone else gets these.

I have had the opposite happen. Although I LD 3-4 times/week,this occured in a non-LD: Long story short,I had been suffering from severe back strain for 2 weeks or so.On a particularly painful night, I was dreaming that I was on a moving parade float w/ DCs. One of them reached over and pinched my [dream] back really hard.It hurt like hell in the dream. When I woke up,no more back pain, and none ever since.

I think these things can work both ways. Pain, problems, etc.can be folded into dream life, and dream life can resolve into the waking as well [in some ways]

Yes,i did feel physical pain, during a dream, then after waking up.I felt it during the next day too.I did find it very strange, especially knowing that the dream and what happened to me in the dream provoked the pain. But i dont know how is that possible????

well this is odd. Somehow I created two of the same thread simultaneously. Thanks for the input though.

Well I have never had a scenario like this before, BUT once in a dream I fell into a volcano. As I was falling to my death I was scared but tryed to become calm(this was a really scary lifelike experience), I just forgot everything and was ready to die. I woke up right when I landed by heart rate was off the charts, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

Coincedentally last night I was dreaming and was for some reason or another on the back of a truck, I fall of and roll down the road hitting my head and a small chunk/hole is missing at the back. It didn't hurt anywhere near what it actually would, but I had this dull sensation in the back of my head, which when I woke up I still had (a headache). I was curious weather I developed a headache and that affected my dream, or if my dream caused the headache. However, this doesn't sound quite the same as what you had.

Ive had dreams where my jaw / teeth hurts like hell, I mean, really hurting as if they were about to pop out. Been having this at least 3-4 times. I have no problems/pain IRL regarding my teeth or jaw.
