Grandma thinks 'Evil spirits' will enter me and make me crazy and that I would go insane because of LDing ._. I was thinking to myself: "If you dream every night, Why would you get spirits if you know you are dreaming?" Anyways she cant stop me from sleeping right? PS she is a Social Worker xD

I can definitely relate, I'm assuming your grandmother is a christian/catholic? I once told my grandma about it when I was living with her, and she (like always) came up with a reason why it's demonic and/or evil and is somehow "Un-Godly" at the time I always believed her and I would just agree.

These days, I don't want to hurt her feelings, so I just know what to talk about and what NOT to talk about when I'm with her now.

Sucks, how you can't really be "open" to them when their beliefs drive them to react very..."intensely" and to believe that it is is horribly bad or something.

You should ask grams that question. You should also ask her (if you are willing), where does she get her information about lucid dreaming being demonic. I'd like to hear the answer to that

Lol, I tried to tell my parents, they just said "Drop it, it's not real, there are no such things as lucid dreams."
I chuckled, and decided to keep it to myself from then on.

I see plenty of these topics: "My parents think LDing is demonic", "My mom thinks lucid dreaming is the work of satan", "My dad thinks lucid dreaming is dangerous".

I just don't see the point. I've stopped trying to convince people how much fun I have every night. Why should I?

I never said that I thought LDing was evil I still try to do it even if she says "Don't" She cant stop me from sleeping xD I mean realizing you are dreaming is your mind not your 'Spirit' ._.

When I first started LDs, I would have dream sex and not use condoms. Now I have 3 unwanted dream babies. Each night I goto sleep, I have to feed them, change their diapers...they basically have the run of the house. It's become a lucid nightmare...

...I'm surprised all your parents are so strange about this. I once confronted my dad and told him about it and he told me about an experiment in college that he did.

He would wake up in the middle of the night (He did it naturally) and get up roll the dice in his drawer, write the numbers down and go back to bed. Often he found that the dice were different than in real life than in the middle of the night (dream) Or were not rolled at all. Once he opened the drawer and thousands of dice rolled out. At this point he started doing something every night, checking if his roommate was there. In the dreams he often wasn't and he started having lucids.

*Note before I confronted him he did not have any advice or tutorials, he did it on his own.

Turns out he stopped because of SP, he often found himself in it after waking up from lucids, and since he had no idea what was going on and was scared he stopped. He never knew what SP was scientifically before I told him. I asked him if he wanted to try again and he did and accomplished them but still SP came back and he gave up again.

My mom on the other hand, doesn't care.

*sigh* is there really a goal you are trying to get out of this topic, or are you simply looking for a bunch of random people across the world to affirm your beliefs behind lucid dreaming at the same time condemning your grandmother?

It appears in your post that you have already decided that you will continue dreaming, you don't really have a question, and are merely criticizing your grandmother publicly in front of a bunch of strangers.

Not only is there not a true question to this topic, but there is not really anything to discuss as well, other than the ever-so-common result of these topics of which is religion bashing.

Seriously, some people don't know how to grow up and get past another person's opinion.

My grandma just tells me to be 'careful'. I ask her what to be careful of, and she just tells me I could hurt myself...
I really don't understand this. How on earth could I hurt myself in a Lucid, and not in a non-lucid dream? Reality is more dangerous then the dream world, that's for sure...
