So if u falled a Rc in dream world u'll become aware of " u r in a dream" |

The thing with an RC is you are already aware you are dreaming, the point of the RC is just to confirm this. So technically you are already lucid when you RC. |
|
The point of learning to RC is not so much to actually do one in a dream, but to repeat the circumstances in which you question reality and become lucid. The RC itself is a confirmation. |
|
Reality Checks are just that, they check reality. Check reality for what? To see whether it is false or real of course. A reality check can only be used if you are aware at what is going on and want to see if you are dreaming or not. |
|
This is exactly what happened to me last night. I was so determined to get a LD but I never got one because I missed a really obvious RC. My friend was looking at porn on this computer we had at school (Its strange, he is horny in real life too |
|
ahhhhh ic..... and so wads the point of doin rc in RL every now n then? |
|
Dejawu, you know how you do things in real life that you also do in dreams (usually). You know, like wear clothes, breathe, eat, and interact in a socially-acceptable way? |

Lucid Dreaming Goals
[Done] Remember multiple dreams a night, consistently
[Done] Become Lucid (6/28/07)
[Done] Fly
[ ] Fly some more
Exactly - So for example if you do an RC everytime you go through a door or something, if you do this in a dream and try you will hopefully become lucid after failing the |RC |

The reason a RC is important is simple...it is kinda odd to say to yourself "am i dreaming?" when your awake, because its a rather ridiculous question. And since you never ask that about yourself when you are awake, your mind in turn, won't ever ask that same question while you are dreaming. The RC is there to simply start conditioning yourself to frequently question your state of reality. Once you start continually questioning that state of reality in real life, it will hopefully become habit for you to question your state of reality in a dream, unlocking LDing!! the scenario goes as such: |
|
"See, in the waking world, the neural system inhibits the activation of the vividness of memories. And this makes evolutionary sense. See you'd be maladaptive for the perceptual image of a predator to be mistaken for the memory of one, and vice-versa. If the memory of a predator conjured up a perceptual image, we would be running off to the bathroom every time we had a scary thought. So you have these serotonic neurons that inhibit hallucinations that they themselves are inhibited during REM sleep. See this allows dreams to appear real, while preventing competition from other perceptual processes. This is why dreams are mistaken for reality. To the functional system of neural activity that creates our world, there is no difference between dreaming a perception and an action, and actually the waking perception and action". |

I mostly become lucid without ever questioning i am dreaming... i might count the fingers on my hand afterward just to be sure. |

MoSh: How about you stop trying to define everything, and just accept what you experience, and explore it.
- From the DJ of Waking Nomad!
I had a weird RC last night, after doing RC's throughout yesterday, I did one in a dream. Everything was normal though, nothing out of the ordinary, but just doing it made me conscious enough to realize I was dreaming. That's how I had my first LD. |
