Extend Lucid Dream Time Through Belief?

I'm not sure where to put this one, but I think here is the best place. Sorry if I'm being a moron.

I was browsing the site when I stumbled on this post in The Official Dream Exchange Thread:

And it got me wondering. I noticed that most controlled things in lucid dreams (i.e. flying, laser vision, spawning beautiful women clad in nothing but bikinis... bikinis made out of water!!!!11one) are the result of a belief that something will happen (i.e. I believe that when I snap my fingers, beautiful women clad in liquid bikinis will appear).
My question is, will a belief that the magic dream-lengthener GameBoy will work cause a lucid dream to last longer (assuming there are no other factors like the awake world to stop the dream)?

Walms taught me a technique: stare at one spot, but also pay attention to the rest of the dream and count up to a high number... like 60. I tried this once. the dream got so vivid and intense that i woke up too soon. but I could feel the effect of it anyway!
