Cool My first official lucid dream... IN A PLANE!!!

Okay so earlier today I was on a plane headed for Hong Kong. Air Canada decided to be amazing and bumped me up to business class. I was going to try to induce a lucid dream so this was perfect (I could make my seat turn into a bed in my own little pod). So anyways I go to sleep and I had no intentions of having a lucid dream, I forgot all about it, I just wanted to sleep.

So I start off with a good ordinary dream, something about being on a cruise ship with appetizers (I have no idea it's not the important part anyways). And then somehow I end up on a roof in New York. Atop a really high building. I'm on the roof with my brother and a bunch of friends when suddenly I realize "I'm dreaming." I think I said it to myself a couple of times. The sensation is incredible, it was a peaceful feeling. I forget about everyone else. I think that I can do anything, I lift off the roof and soar above the street, slowly and peacefully. It's an incredible feeling. I'm just kind of hovering there arms extended on either side, lifted off the roof of the building and hovering over the whole dark city (it's at night). And then I wake up.

So cool! I can't wait for the next one! Hopefully I won't have to be in a plane to have it (and I don't think business class will happen for me again in a long long time).

How come I never get to go on awesome planes? Canadians have had it too good for too long!

      On topic.

Yep, thats exactly how you have them. When your at home you tend to fall into a deeper sleep essentially turning off most of your logical processing. But while in an unfamiliar environment you don't sleep so deeply (a natural defense mechanism) thus you're closer to being awake and more likely to realize your dreaming.

I've heard techniques which suggest you sleep on the floor or on a couch to induce this phenomenon.

Anyway, conratz. May you have more luck then me.

My mom was once bumped to first-class on a flight from Oregon to Georgia. No such luck with me

Congratulations on your LD, though! It's especially awesome when you have one when you're not expecting it. Best of luck having more and if you keep at it, I'm sure you won't have to be 10,000 feet in the air next time.

Well I'd classify China as unfamiliar territory so hopefully that will trigger another

And trust me SystemsLock, Canadians have NO advantage to flying, infact we usually drive down to Washington to get cheaper flights when flying to the states. Oh and because border crossing customs is a lot better than airport customs.. We only got bumped up because of frequent flying from flying for business trips so often. Anyways thanks for the luck, good luck to you too!

This has definitely happened to me- I never really wondered why I always had lucids in other people's houses!

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

I'll tell you what. You can have our cheap airfare and we can have your healthcare. Hell, we'll even throw in Alaska!
