I Think I Accidently Did A DILD! Help!

      Hi,

I've been trying to achieve lucid dreaming for about two weeks now through the WILD technique, to not much avail. Last night, I lay differently, and when to sleep later, and found that, rather than having a WILD, I woke up whilst in a dream, I think having a Dream ILD. It only lasted about 2 minutes (dream time!), when I sort-of flew up a few metres and did a somersault.

I want to do it again tonight, so I don't sort of lose it, but I don't know what to do. Should I recreate the conditions? Should I try to replicated the themes that woke me out of my dream last night? Or should I continue trying to do a WILD?

      Thanks,
      David

Read more about all the different techniques and other things how lucid dreams can be induced. A lot of people have had at least one lucid dream in their life while it wasn't on purpose. You are able to become lucid in all of your dreams, thinking about being lucid can make you lucid. This often happens to people who are just into it. I think you should study 'lucid dreaming' some more while you are practicing it.

I would try recreating the conditions in which you had the lucid. When I was a kid, I learned to work out that I tended to have more lucid dreams when I would lay on my back, generally with one knee raised and propped against the wall next to my bed. I never quite figured out why it worked like that, but even to this day, I have a better chance of having a DILD when I'm sleeping on my back.

So, yeah, try to recreate those conditions. If nothing else, you may create a mental association between those conditions and focusing on dreaming, which may make DILDs more likely, anyway.
