When I'm researching something, I always start with the assumption that it exists and/or is possible. If you don't - well - there's not much left to do then, eh?

With that in mind, I start looking at "if this did exist, why would it not be repeatable" "if this did exist, what would be the problem with ____"

As far as much of this genre goes, my thinking is since that by all accounts it requires an extreme level of concentration. A lab would be distracting. Hence the reason I offer to lug all that equipment to where the person feels comfortable rather than bringing the person to a lab (which is easier for me, obviously).

Sure. Bringing the gear to the person introduces a lot of variables. But that just means the researcher has to be more careful. Never a bad thing anyway!

Anyway - just where I'm coming from on the topic.

Can anyone offer any information on biokinesis please, I feel like I have searched the entire net . Can wer offer any advice

i think i predict my future in my dreams because sometimes it will just hit me that i have seen this exact moment before like deja vu. It happened yesterday in english class. Also things seem to repeat in my life like my mom said i was being asinine one day and i was like what's that mean i never heard it before. Later that night someone on t.v. says asinine.

What's the harm in removing the variable,though?

If the test is properly controlled in comfortable environs, the results are equally accurate and it removes one perceived obstacle.

im new here and dont know anything PSI related. but im willing to learn

these are some of the abilities ive developed while lucid dreaming

telekenesis
advanced levitation
i can summon figures to appear, but it usually has to be from behind a wall or corner
i can breathe underwater
i can command manifestations and they submit
i can transform objects (like turn things into gold)
i can penetrate any surface
i can conjure the elements
i have accidentally seen aspects of the future, but never by will
i have summoned lightning
i have healed wounds
and probly more, but all this was due to recognizing that im dreaming and compensating for what ive already accepted as law, reguarding physics. my methods for overcoming my preconcieved notions in reguard to what i am ar am not capable of are simple. i react to conflict or abstacles the same way i would if i were a cartoon, in a cartoon. i treat my dreamworld as if the laws of nature there are based on what can be done in cartoons, pretty much. id be happy to explain in further deatail for anyone who hasnt already figured that much out for themselves. ican also give the specific examples of the times when i achieved the feats that ive mentioned.

Heh, looks like you fell prey to a common misconception. It may seem a bit hard to choke down, but the people here on this thread are talking about powers they make claims to having in waking life. They aren't scientifically validated, so believing or not is up to you. Personally, I'm highly skeptic. More than that, considering how many times some people on the thread have ducked and twisted their way around replying when asked for proof.

Anyway, good to hear how skilled you are at LDing, though! Most of those are pretty advanced for somebody who hasn't been on the site for very long. Just wondering, had you ever LD'd before coming to this site? I'm guessing yes, considering how skilled you are.

I agree. The human brain, itself, is an unstable variable. Distractions can effect everything about our thought/physical action network, which already differs from person to person, and I don't think it's up to the speculator to decide what is distracting to someone or not. Technically, simply the act of being watched is a trigger of anticipation in many people. To draw someone into a laboratory and charge them with a test on your terms to prove the existence of a talent that may already be unstable, is not something that can simply be dismissed as noncontributory to the outcome. That is the whole meaning behind "Hometeam advantage." And, while not saying neither that these abilities do exist, nor that 'hometeam advantage' has a Definite effect on every person or test, I just think it would be unfair to assume it has no effect and criticize someone who asked for it.

Besides - let's say it is proven in the field, but not reproduced in a lab environment:

This is actually a wonderful thing. We know it works in the field. We know it doesn't work in the lab. So now we get to solve the fun mystery - what's different? If we figure out why it works in one place and not another, then we will probably know what the root cause of the talent is as we'll find it whilst we're elliminating the variables.

In dreams you're only limited by the extent of lucidity present and any preconceptions present in your mind.

I know this thread is necro, and I know this is beyond dreaming, but come on. If yall had abilities like this, don't you think people would KNOW about it?

Sorry, unless you can consistently predict what is going to happen next on a day to day basis, I'd pass it off as coincidence.
Controlling fire and water? I don't believe it either, across the ages, SOMEONE would be abusing this kind of power, and it would be recorded and scientifically tested.

If you can get a ride down here i'll prove it to you, i've shown my wife and my best friends my abilities and i'm currently working on teaching my best friend (whom i've known since i was 7 and i'm now 21) some of my abilities... I'll be more than happy to show you, it may take a little bit because i know for a fact that skepticism is a powerful distraction for the mind especially when one is trying to prove these abilities to someone else, that is why i was only able to show my wife and best friends because they weren't thinking "he can't do this, he's a fraud and a sham, i'm wasting my time here". The simple fact is that 90% of the people that can do these things will almost always agree with me on this one fine point: We don't feel we need to prove anything to anyone, that it's a waste of our time to spend our life trying to make you contempt and to convince you when we have loved ones who have experienced it and that alone is enough for us... Also, I find it very difficult to "Show off" my abilities because it puts me in a distracted mindset and i can't focus...

Now i have never categorized it because i view it differently, i view it as energy influencing other energy... i kind of have the mindset John Travolta has in Phenomenon after the particular event...

With telekinesis being possible...this really explains a LOT. Subconscious beliefs really do change reality. It only makes sense why sigil magic and law of attraction works. IN this case, skepticism is exactly what PREVENTS you from creating or using psionics.
