Thread: 11:11

I heard a numbers lady off of coast to coast AM with george norey say that the number 1:11 or 11:11 means what ever you was just thinking about is quite possible to happen. Its like some form of a precoginated state of mind or something like that.

I had this for a while, around this time last year,
it started to get silly, but i decided to try and work out hy it was happening.

Everytime i looked at the clock it would seem to be something like 11:11, 12:12, 13:13 etc. etc.

I think the simplest answer is that our brains are essentially pattern detection devices. That's what we do best, it's also why we see animals in clouds, people in shadows, faces in cracked paint etc.
So when we are made aware of the 11:11 phenomena, suddenly it's a new pattern for our brains to latch onto.

Then there is the other factor.
You may think that 11:11 only happens twice a day, but that's not technically true. Go have a look at the clocks and watches in your house... how many of them are set to EXACTLY the same time? very few i expect.
They will all be almost the same time, maybe a few minutes out either way.
You may even have a clock that is as much as 10 minutes fast compared to the others. So what this does is obvious, it creates a whole load of extra chances to see 11:11.
If you have 5 timepieces in your house, all of slightly different time setting,
and two chances of seeing 11:11 in a day, then you've got 10 chances a day of seeing 11:11 in your house. Then think about all the clocks in the wider world that will be set slightly different from yours.

Also think about your own body clock... if you start checking the time at a specific time of day (around 11:11) then it becomes a habit and you'll start to get the urge to check at this same time tommorow, and the day after etc.
So your body become triggered to check when it expects to see it.

Then there is the wider phenomena of seeing 5:55, 12:12, 13:13, 14:14 etc.
There are lots of times on a digital clock that will duplicate like this.
And then if you think of how each clock is set to a slightly different time to the next.... it actually ends up that you'll see a duplicate time, if not 11:11 itself, many many times in a day.

It's nothing magical, it's just pattern recognition, habit, and something that is statistically more likely to happen that it seems at first glance.

My question are you in the military or something what's with 14:14 -.-

Mainly North America is the one's who rely solely on the 12 hour clock most of the rest of the world uses a 24 hour clock.

although this discission is pretty much finished just thought id add that this weird number thing happend too me to,not so much now but it used to drive me nuts, 11.11 was the main one to but also 3.33 and 2.22 were most common.

Well I have never noticed this phenomenon...BUT...just the other day I came across this video on YouTube that was really mind blowing. If none of you on this thread have read anything about 2012 or even if you have, then check this video out to have your mind opened a little.

when you look at a clock it doesnt strike you as unusual when its something boring or unappealing like 3:19 or 12:40. 11:11, or 9:11, or 5:55 or whatever pairing of digits you happen across are significant because they're noticeable. so you remember the last time you saw the time being 4:44.

numbers arent following you.

I just came to the tread and it was 8:40 and then it ticked over to 8:41!

I have seen these numbers before on my clock, maybe it's something evil or magic!

Also I keep seeing and hearing the words lucid dream everywhere for some reason.. maybe that's evil too and we are going to all die in our dream.



Good thread, not. It's a known fact that if you are looking for a number or something you are going to notice yourself noticing it more often. If you were to go out in a day and look for the number 52 you might see it a lot. There could be radio stations with the number in it, the radio might announce something with the number in it. There could be house numbers, street signs, signs on buildings and shops. The number could be on your favourite food's wrapper and yes you could tell yourself "oh maybe its a sign for something special" but no, it's not.

The number 11:11 is only noticed because people take time out to try and notice it. If the numbers were changed to 10:10 you would get the same result.

We all look at the clock more often than we even notice, it's only if you are looking for a certain time that your brain actually takes note and allows you to intake the information.

im also haunted by the number 11:11, i see it allmost everyday. haha for example the other day i was on my bands myspace and saw we had 11 plays audio plays that day and 11111 total plays, was pretty crazy. anyway, i think its a reminder to people that we are part of something greater and untill we get the message the universe will keep trying. 11 is also a master numerology number representing balance and ying and yang so to say. the combination of the male and female energies to create a whole.

Tell me if this is correct, Do you see many other numbers on the clock everyday?

Do you only notice the time 11:11 because you are looking for it?

Do you think that there is a possibility you are looking for the number and that you are finding it, it is not finding you?

How can you say that it is haunting you?

I don't think that the universe is sending us messages if you didn't know our time system is based for the earth's rotations compared with where it is moving around the sun. How can one small particular time in these measurements of the earth and sun have anything to do with the rest of the "universe"?

How can people possibly say that the number 11:11 showing up on the clock is something significant to see?

Do you not all realise when you see the time 11:11 there are more than 23 other time zones in which it is not 11:11?

All the others against 1.. There's a lot more places having times that aren't anything special compared to your one time zone which is apparently special at that time of the day.

Bentendo those are quite some questions:

1) Yes, I see at least one of 10 numbers when looking at a clock.

2) I notice the time because i happen to see it for example getting a text message at that time or just checking the time. its not like il look at the time a minute later if i checked at 11:10.

3) Yes the number does stand out in my mind so i recognise it, but i really dont see the difference behind me finding the number and the number finding me.

4) I dont see why time i posted should have anything to do with it. the word haunting was a metaphor.

5) assuming the universe is trying to send me a message, i think it would use the time zone that im in. I dont criticise you for thinking this is crazy thought but many people believe that the universe is all one. "I am that, you are that and all of this is that" On a quantum level this is infact true as things like time and space become irrelevant and there is an interconncetedness throughout the entire universe. This is a scientific fact. Therefor it doesnt seem to strange that the universe would send me a message because i am in fact the universe and only sending a message to myself.

I'm not "bashing" anything, I am putting forth my opinion so that maybe I can strike someone as I have done with you so that we may both discuss the topic.

I like your answers to my questions, they do make sense at least for you there is a reason you are finding the message of 11:11. For other people it seems to be like seeing aliens, they see some sort of light in the sky and might immediately assume that aliens exist and are trying to contact them.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion and mine is that the numbers that show up in our time system have no significance. If I was trying to find a message from my self I would look somewhere more logical where meaning can be viewed and discovered like in my dreams. I went through a stage of seeing the number all the time on the clock and around the place, but I proved to myself that there wasn't anything significant and I was just looking for the number.

When I was saying about people finding the number 11:11 I didn't mean like this, I mean that subconsciously because they are looking for the number their mind recognises it and make you notice it.

Ah man its 11:11 all over again. It will eventually quit I had the same problem.

i almost tried to avoid as it got more common,like when i had an urge to check the time,i would stop myself(even if i really needed to know what it was) then i would wait a few mins,but it still always caught me out

me to i see 9:11 and i see the minutes 11 alot such as 7:11 just different hours and i see the minute 26 alot such as 8:26

its wierd how alot of us see 11 alot

and i dont try to look at the clock and notice the number i mean i would just open my phone to see if i got a text and it would be 9:11

like most of the time i havent seen a clock in at least 1 or 2 hours and just randomly look at the clock and see that its 9:11 or 7:11 anything with 11
