I use a different exercise.
I take the basic colors:
Red
Green
Blue
Purple
Yellow
Orange
Brown
Me and a another person clear our minds.
Quieting our thoughts and calm ourselves so we have no distractions.
We then take turns sending and receiving.
We both usually close our eyes, but i've done it while driving down the road before.
Sending involves visualizing a black or white sheet of color/colorless void in your mind, then filling it with the color you wish to send.
Follow this by visualizing the other person, who they are to you think of the receiver seeing this color, Think the color AT the receiver.
Send it with every ounce of thought you can raise. Don't allot any other thoughts space in your mind but these.
At the same time the receiver needs to clear his/her mind and wait for a brief color thought to flash in their mind. Don't think of a color from your own mind, simply await a "foreign" uninitiated thought to 'pop' into your mind and hold onto it.
The sender states when he/she is finished sending and the receiver states the color signal received.
I've had a 75% success rate with this exercise. The failing is credited to me either trying it in a large group of people at parties (i'm not advanced enough yet for singling out someone in a large rowdy crowd) or being stressed and begged to try it, or just not in the mood and being begged.
If i'm into the exercise and feel good about the exercise, i usually succeed with it every time.
Also, i've not lifted anything yet (though this is a top goal in my exercises) i have however moved three things.
Once when i was young i reached for a cup and realized there was nothing in it so instead of pulling my hand away i willed the cup to move out of reach. Crazy enough, the cup slid away from my hand, and freaked me out as i was a child and had no idea of these things yet.
Second, I was sitting in summer school in my 10th year of school, and was in the library bored. I decided to meditate and clear my mind, the teacher came in the room and gave us our work, i reached for my pencil but didn't really want it. It slid across the desk and stopped short of falling off the other side. I looked up to make sure no one else saw it an snatched it up and finished my work.
Third, i was sitting at a restaurant by myself waiting on my family to pick me up from the airport. I became very bored and began staring at the ice in my glass. I randomly lifted my hand above the glass slowly started moving my finger in a circular motion. After about a minute of this i looked up at the entrance to the restaurant and saw my mother enter. I glanced down and saw the contents of the drink circling in the glass lightly and slowly.
These are the only three times i've ever experienced any psychic phenomenon physically.
