      Smile Mrhardrivens Work Book

Hey guys, My goals are to have 3 to 4 lucid dreams a week. I have had 2 lucid dreams so far 1 only lasted a split second the other one lasted for about 30 seconds or so. I have been working on my dream journal and my reality checks for 3.5 months so far and i'm very dedicated to learning this skill. Also I would like to make some good freinds and to help others once ive mastered my skills. I can remember 1 to 2 dreams every night but sometimes they're kinda fuzzy. well I guess thats it for now cya in the forums guys.
I've done about 20 reality checks today most of them were the checking hands while asking myself if I'm dreaming. A couple of them were the nose plugging one and alot of the digital watch checking.

Hello Mrharddriven, welcome to the class (again)! You started trying to LD in March? So did I.

Having 3-4 LDs a week sounds like a long-term goal--a good goal at that! Do you have any short-term goals as well? Perhaps working on your recall, looking up a new induction technique, stabilizing your next LD, or becoming more aware in your dreams? Just a few suggestions, I like having short-term goals as well as long-term.

1-2 dreams a night is a good start! What techniques or aids do you use? Sounds like you're using DILD, anything else? A lot of people like using a combination of DILD and MILD. Have you recognized any dream signs? Do you try to become more aware of your surroundings and what you were just doing and why when you RC?

I see you've already found the DJ at DV! Very nice. Keep us updated with interesting dreams. And feel free to ask any questions you have in your workbook.

Hello Caenis, Thanks for the interest in my post : ) and I'm going to try and answer a few of the questions you have for me. I do have some short term goals as well some of which I have already reached. Like having a lucid dream was one. Heres a few more, to remember 2 or more dreams every night , to remember my dreams vividly , to stabilize my next LD (that one I just got from you ) The aids I'm using are choline, vitamin b6 and b12, ginkgo biloba, and i just got some calea z in the mail yesterday(yuck!) I have a labradorite gem coming in the mail as well and the last thing i got today was some huperzine A I'm trying that out tonight I can't wait. The techniques I'm using to induce my LDs are dild, mild, and wbtb I wbtb every chance i get and have done about 10 of these over the last 3 weeks. I used wbtb to have the lucid dream I was talking about in my first post the one that lasted 30 seconds or so. I have not really noticed any dream signs in an actual dream yet but I'm working on that. yes i do some of the things you mentioned about RCs I ask myself how I got here and really pay attention to my hands the lines in them and look at the finger nails then rub them together look at my watch twice and sometimes I throw in the old nose plug thing and try to breathe. Thx so much for replying to my post this was fun, I hope to induce a LD about me typing on my keyboard now : ) Happy dreaming Caenis I'm going to go read your workbook now .

Don't bore yourself dude, there are a lot more interesting workbooks in this class. =p Also, I'm one of the apprentices for this class, I help OpheliaBlue answer workbooks and such. Though really, I do think it's a good idea to read other workbooks from time to time. Helps with motivation, and you can learn some useful tips by peering into another's brain workbook!

Wow, you're taking a lot of different supplements. I have some B6 pills myself, but they give me about 2,500% of the B6 I would need in a day. I take it occasionally, but decided to just take a daily vitamin instead. It's good that you're not relying on supplements alone though! Supplements are merely an aid to LDing after all. Also, I know that Ophelia has used a supplement before (5htp?) and has commented that it works rather well in the beginning, but once you get used to it, the effectiveness decreases. Ask OpheliaBlue more about it sometime if you want.

I'm glad that you're using WBTB too! Also definitely a good aid to LDing. I also find it helpful in remembering more of my dreams. If you notice any dream signs, post them here and keep us updated!

6-19 I meant to post this last night but my wife went to bed early and didnt have time, I did around 20 reality checks yesterday most of them were checking my hands counting my fingers and looking at my watch a bunch while asking myself if I was dreaming.

6-20 I kinda slacked off on my reality checks today because Ive been thinking maybe I'm trying to hard, I heard thats possible. so I only did around 10 most of them were just looking at my watch a couple hand checks and thats about it.

6-21 ok today I did a bunch of reality checks and I decided to throw in a few extras. I did all the usual ones I normally do plus I started turning the light switch on and off a few times and did the jump up in the air to see if I float one a few times to. I'm going to try hard for a lucid dream tonight!!

Hey Mrharddriven, welcome to the class!

Was wondering if, in addition to your friend Steve, that playing basketball is also a possible dream sign? I just noticed that it was in a couple of your dreams in your journal.

      Anyway, good luck tonight!

Ok I've done my regular reality checks today plus I've been adding in some mirror based rcs in on my rountine cuz I had my 3rd lucid dream last night and my lucidity was triggered by noticing something weird in the mirror. Im gonna be doing these rcs alot more often to.

ok while I'm away starting my new job I will be working on the DEILD technique. Ive been wanting to try this type of induction for a while and it seems now is my chance. I will post my results when I come back this Friday. I'm taking my DJ with me so I can make my posts as acurate as possible.

Hey! Sorry for the delayed response, I'm useless to DV on the weekends because of my schedule.

But congrats on the lucid the other night! I love mirrors, they've helped me become lucid so many times, and they're a great stabilization technique for me, and I even completed a TOTM that included going through a mirror. DEILD is a great technique, and my favorite. I look forward to reading your results when you get back on Friday.

Hey guys Im back, and boy oh boy was my sleep schedule messed up. I didnt even remember any dreams except for friday. So I guess I really dont have to say I failed miserably on my deild trys. I was going to bed early and waking up at 4:30 in the morning and on friday 3:30 in the morning and was working 12 hour days. I'm going to keep trying on my deild technique and I have been keeping up with my reality checks. Hopefully soon my sleep schedule will get back to normal. I got my dream rock(labradorite) in the mail yesterday and I have to say last night it worked good I had so many dreams but was still so tired only wrote down 2. This little set back will not stop me from learning to LD I'm just getting started.

Oh man that's a tough schedule! I totally understand the frustration around how tired it can make you.

So what's this labradorite? I google-imaged it and it looks really badass. What's it do for LDing, I'm curious?

Its a gemstone from canada thats supposed to give you really vivid dreams. you sleep with it under your pillow. This website suggested it Lucid Dreaming: The Art of Conscious Dream Control and I think reesejones87 on youtube says they work good to. So I gave it a try and I have to say it works for me. Although it may be the placebo effect idk.

Huh... interesting. Whatever works I say.

I use 5-htp occasionally, but I have had many successful LDs in the past without it. So who's to say it's not a placebo effect as well, at least to some degree?
