So mainly what I do is Ada but I tried a mantra yesterday and before yesterday evnning too. I think my ada is good enough and i just want to give an extra with mantras i don't really focus on.
So I just wanted to add a dream sign that i realised clearly today: My dream characters change during a dream . In a small dream today they changed 4 times (always friends) and I just realized that in other dreams i never know who i was with because it gets complicated.

That happens to me too. A dream character can change from my current boyfriend into an old one, or an exhusband. It is very confusing. Even if it's a made-up DC, their faces can change and morph.. even change gender. It's weird and annoying, but can sometimes yield good things.

I just made an edit of a dream sign that is always in my dreams : I never see the faces of dream characters. This is the only dream sign that is 100% constant.

I'm trying not all into daydreams to have a good ADA but it gets difficult on long time since i'm a big daydreamer and i often fall in my thoughts. I keep reality ckecking and try to be aware while I mantra before going to bed. My motivation is good and wll hold a long time but my reams still rob all my thoughts about the environnement and sense.

I think you might be trying to hard to NOT daydream. You're focusing all your attention onto the daydreaming, so your brain will inevitably think about that.

"Look where you want to go, and you'll go there." - A rule used by us motorcyclists. It's the same with the brain. Think about what you want to think about, not what you want to STOP thinking about.

Like, don't think about crocodiles. I just told you not to, yet you did, simply because the suggestion was there.

Basically, try to focus on being aware, rather than trying to focus on not daydreaming

I had a non-lucid dream this night. But i was very close to lucidity. In a few words a friend gave me power to control the envrionnement. I changed the clouds and turned the temperature up. I had thought that it was a dream but i wasn'T aware enough. Second chance was when my classmates talked about lucidity like it just got popular and they had no idea what they were talking about. The good thing is that now i now that lucid dreaming took a big part in my life and thoughts.

That's great Xyvoch! Those lower layers of lucidity quite often kick off more vivid lucid dreams in the near future. So keep doing what you're doing because you're really on the right track,

I'm back on the forums after a break on dv. But not for my dreams! I'm working hard on getting lucid a third time and I had a very close experience to it. Today i had one dream where i saw a face for the first time in my dream life. I hope this is a sign for my grwing awareness. And in this same dream i had some clear thoughts, sad that my logic center was completly down

Welcome back, Xy! We've missed you, especially on IRC!

Good to hear about your progress. Just keep doing more awareness and you'll get there surely!

      How have you been?

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

So i wanted to update my dream signs, for this big amount of time i spend having dreams without getting on DV. I still dream of unknown places, with friends and i never see any faces. Now i feel much more my body and dreams are more vivid and the themes of my dreams change every time. So no more ideas i often think about in the day. I still have no lucid dream since june 2012, but now i will soonhave a very stable Dream Journal I could work on for my inductions.

      Hi Xyvoch,
      glad to have you here!
Something I would add to recognizing dream signs is using reality checks. They can be very useful to raise general awareness in dreams and especially when you may see a dream sign. The main thing for reality checks and dream signs is to really feel your environment to detect whether or not you are dreaming.
Problems can arise when for example, you might be flying in a dream, but it doesn't seem abnormal. This is because we don't have the use of our entire mental faculty within the dream. However, you can attach that awareness to those dream signs, then add reality checks, and that will make a huge difference in your dream awareness.
The trick I have found is to bring the memory of how it feels to be in a dream, into waking life. Then, test reality, and awareness will naturally follow.

Welcome back Xy! and i agree with Chimp, you might want to incorporate awareness along with your dream signs. After all, what's the point in knowing what they are if you dont use them to your advantage? Good luck!

A few weeks ago I had a lucid dream, my third, and my first controled one. Nevertheless I was dissapointed because I controled it only for a minute or so. My dream was very vivid and many elements came so it was extremely difficult to take my time, take a deep breath and stabilize. I lost consciousness when I even left my own body and the whole dream changed. For now stabilization is just secondary but I read a few tutorials since then.
I am working with a sort of mix of SAT and ADA right now by being aware at random moments in the day. I'll take my dream of this morning as an example why it works so bad for me:
I am on vacation right now so everyday of my life is more or less the same, not a lot of unusual stuff is happening, but in my dream I was in a plane that my father controlled from his seat and we flew at a low altitude following th streets. I was rarely in my body as I saw the plane from outside for the biggest part of it. There was no moment that looked like my life where I could have thought "Hm this might be a dream, let's check it!". This dream was not very vivid but I have this feeling that my dreams are too crazy for me to realize that I am dreaming. I keep myself motivated but the dream world is just so different from the reality...

Congrats on the lucid, one minute is great! I often even just get a few seconds. Anyway, it is actually a good thing that your dreams are way different. When you're awake, you just have to reality check thoroughly, observe your surroundings and ask "is this situation normal? Should i be here? Does this make sense?", etc. Even though you're on vacation and you are having repeating days, the reality checking would be easier to make a habit. And once you get used to questioning yourself, it may take some time, but you will have an easier time with lucidity. Perhaps at first just wonder if you're dreaming but not getting lucid, but the more you do it, the quicker you'll get lucid in the successive dreams.

      Good luck!

A few days ago I had my 4th DILD, even though I did nothing special, it was my best lucid dream. I tried to do anything to stay aware, not even trying to be in control, and I mostly did reality checks and rubbed my hands. My subconscious was teleporting me and introducing many elements to drag my attention away. I was lucid for 2 minutes, but I spend this time struggling with keeping my awareness and I think that's because I daydream a lot and get easely unaware of the reality with my thoughts.
Beside of that I keep my dream count rising and I always try to focus on awareness, sadly it only works for a few days and then I stop thinking about it for a while.
