      PlanesWalker's Workbook

      Hello everyone.

I've enlisted in this class in order to regain my lucid abilities and advance them further than I've ever been able to before. I've been Lucid dreaming on and off for years, and took particular interest in the subject about 7 years ago. I began studying lucid dream books and keeping a dream journal, but after a while I lost my focus and the will to pursue it any further.

Recently my desire to explore the Dreamscape has come back with a vengeance. I began reading material on dreaming and focusing my intent once more. I was doing great, having two or more LD per week and remembering a whole lot more. Then it stopped once I started trying to WILD. I haven't had a LD since. I feel like my mind was just giving me a taste, letting me know what was possible. Now it's forcing me to expand my consciousness in order to achieve the next level of lucidity. I've only done WILD once and I don't remember how, I only remember it happening and this was before I started studying it.

I started taking supplements recently as a method of reaching my goals. While this has yet to assist in a LD, I don't feel the attempt has been a waste. My Dream recall has doubled at least. I was able to remember at least 1 Dream every night, now it's 2 or 3 a night. My awareness during the day has also increased, I feel like my mind is working faster at certain times. Ive been taking 2400 mg Lecithin, and 1200 mg Omega 3 twice daily. I also take 400 mg of 5-htp half an hour before bed. I'm going to start taking GABA as soon as it gets here, so if anyone out the has any comments on supplements I'd love to hear them.

My short term goals are to attain lucidity again, and to make it a consistent thing. I would also like to be able to expand my control within the Deamscape. I can manipulate certain things, the coolest I think being my venue. The last LD I had involved me changing my surroundings into a jungle. I feel my awareness is good, but it isnt good enough.

My long term goals are to be able enter a LD at will. By WILD or DILD, I want to be able to go to sleep knowing I will LD. I would also like to be able to have a perfect balance in my Dream of controlling both the Dream itself and my emotions, allowing me maximum time in the Dreamscape. I wish to do this because I believe this kind of ability can be extremely useful to waking life as well. Every night we Dream, I want to do more with mine.
      I Dreamed a Dream
In it, saw people I've never seen
      Gone places I've never been
And done things I'd do again.

Welcome to the Intro Class fellow Texan!

I've never seen anyone start their workbook with a poll. Cute. (I voted).

I'm so glad to see that you already know about lucid dreaming, and have the motivation to pick it back up. I believe dedication to this class will get you there. Also, I used to take 5-htp before bed, and it worked great for a while, then stopped. So now I just use it occasionally (like, to break through a dry spell), and that seems to work ok. Just FYI.

Honestly, with the few lucid dreams I've had, I just like to walk around. Everything feels much more surreal and beautiful in the dream. It's nice knowing that I can walk around completely safe with any series of events happening.

      Thanks for welcoming me.

I'm surprised by your poll comment. I would have expected more people to take advantage of that little tool, I know I will.

Today has been a slacker day... Been doing awareness checks randomly throughout. Took an afternoon nap to see if I could reclaim some dreamtime and have something to write about. No luck. Don't remember a thing. I cant wait for the gaba to get here, been hearing nothing but good things about it. has anyone here tried employing meditation to help with their dreaming?

I'd strongly advise against taking supplements too often, as well as taking too much of them when you do take them. Not only is it bad for your health but constantly taking them will eventually build up a tolerance to them.

Not to forget the fact that supplements are just a temporary solution, if you learn how to lucid dream naturally then you can do it whenever you want without relying on anything other than yourself!
Check out my DreamViews Podcast with OpheliaBlue!

The best reason for having dreams is that in dreams no reasons are necessary.

No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream.
Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perceptual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.

      Appreciate the feedback cola.

Since I have been delving into the subject for a good few years, I don't feel that the supplements are a substitution to learning LD. I feel they are merely a way of naturally giving myself the best chances possible to attain lucidity. These supplements all increase brain function. Memory, clarity, awareness, and some of the chemicals created in your brain for REM. I don't take anything I don't research first so I feel good about long term effects with these particular supplements.

No that's fine. I guess part of my confusion was because in addition to this workbook with the poll, you had a duplicate workbook without a poll. Though the content of the post was the same. So I deleted the duplicate but kept the one with the poll.

It is interesting to see what's popular among the students in terms of what to do in a dream. I picked "Whatever I want" and it's the most popular so far haha

      Yea, sorry bout that duplication.

People certainly like doing whatever they want, don't they? I'm surprised only 1 likes to fly. Other than manipulating my environment, my favorite things to do are telekinesis and summoning. I use telekinesis in my reality checks. Or at least, try to...

I would like to hear all of your favorite things to do. All of you out there.

I really love to waterbend in my lucids. I don't know why, but there's this distinctly special feeling when I control water, and I could feel it being part of me but I can't quite explain it. Haha

      Hello everybody,

Haven't been able to log keep my workbook up to date due to some personal situations here, but I'm back now...

Stopped smoking out last week, and I think I'm starting to feel the effects on my dreaming. Last night I had probably about 5 dreams, maybe more. Whenever this many dreams hit me in one night I get a bit disoriented. At some points I felt that my dreams weren't the ones I remember most often, the scenario types. The ones that seem to have a "story", no matter how outlandish. No, the dreams I refer to are more like I'm watching my thoughts unfold. I'm not sure if that makes sense to anyone, but it's a trip to wake up and feel that way. Especially since I can remember waking after every dream.

The dream I remember best was the last one I had, as usual. It involved a killer coming after my family, more specifically my mother. I remember being angry at my brother for not seeming as concerned as I was for her well being, especially since he had apparently already been in the house and held a knife to my mothers throat. I say apparently because I don't remember seeing it happen, but my dreamself seem to know that this happened. I remember receiving visitors at some point during this dream, and suspecting one of them to be the killer. So like a good son, I grabbed the largest knife I could find and met them at the gates.

There were two of them. I only remember one of them clearly, it was Tom hanks. But not like how you are probably picturing him, he had white hair and was wearing robes of some kind. His eyes were also different somehow, they seemed to be white as well but not exactly. I recognized him instantly and allowed them access to my home. The last thing I remember was locking up our gate, which was probably the coolest gate ive ever seen. I don't really think I can accurately describe it but I will try. It was a 10 ft black wrought iron gate, kinda like the ones you see in front of typical haunted houses in movies. Except this one locked in a special way. There were smaller iron bars that I had to pull through the main ones and turn to lock. The smaller ones all moved together, like a set. Once I turned the set, I let go and the gate began to finish locking itself. It sprouted small spikes in between all the bars to prevent anyone from grabbing onto and climbing them, and spear like tips on the top of all the main bars. The last thing it did was shift itself as a whole, like it was alive. It leaned out toward any comers that might mean us harm. Looking similar to when warriors on the battlefield prop spears up in order to stop charging cavalry. They just didn't lean down as far.

I also remember part of another dream. It was me looking down upon the ocean, not actually there but kinda like I was watching a movie. I saw a man surfing, but it wasn't surfing exactly. He wasn't riding waves like usual, but seemed to be propelled across the surface of the water by something else entirely. Picture a wake boarder but no boat pulling him along. As I watched him glide on the ocean, birds eye view, I began to see sea creatures leaping out of the water trying to get him. These creatures resembled mermaids in the way that they were slightly humanoid with a big fin instead of legs, but they differed in that these creatures were completely tan colored and vicious. One after another, they breached the water trying to grab this man. I almost got the sense that this was a game for the man, that maybe the reason he was out so far into the ocean was so that he would encounter them. Every time they did though, he was able to dodge them. This only went on for about a minute before something woke me.

I fully expect for my nights to be similar to this, dream wise, for the next few nights at least. Due to the rem rebound created by smoking so much the past few months and quitting suddenly. I appreciate the time that any of you have taken to read my post, and welcome any and all comments or questions.

I believe my awareness is increasing. Yesterday was a "fun" day as I spent It walking around my side of town looking for a job. I was walking this time because my truck is in limbo, I can't drive it until I get a few things sorted out. Or actually, I shouldn't drive it until things get sorted out. Anyway....

As I'm walking I constantly check my reality in various ways: trying to remember how I got to a specific point in time, telekinesis of course, trying to place my finger through my palm, and a new one that I only perform outside, trying to make cars crash into each other. I found a praying mantis yesterday and I got more excited than I probably should have. The only thing is I wasn't aware those little guys were in my part of the country, so it surprised me. This little guy was trying to keep cool in the shade when I found him, and this actually reinforces my thoughts of becoming more aware in my day to day life as praying mantises are pretty small and have good camouflage. Noticing him took a pretty high degree of awareness in my opinion, especially considering the traffic that was all around me and how most people would've been focused on that instead.

I wanted to keep the mantis but I had just started my trek, so I left him in the shade hoping he would remain chillin until I returned for him. Which also seemed to me like a good memory excercise. I went and did my thing and returned to the spot where I found him. He was even still on the same piece of fence that I left him on. I found a good sized stick nearby and coaxed him onto it. I was forced to walk a little unnaturally as to keep the little guy in my shadow where he preferred to be. I walked a good two miles this way, probably confusing numerous passerby due to the way I was walking with the stick, but I didn't care. I reached my apartment and got the jar the I was planning to put him in, at least for a little bit to have a closer at him before I would place him in the atrium of the complex where I'm sure he would find plenty of food. As I'm trying to put him into the jar, he suddenly sprouted wings and flew away! What the hell! When did praying mantises get wings?! I was so disappointed by this. Lol. I laugh now though. My girl couldn't stop laughing when I told her about it. I was unaware of their flight capability, so this seemed like a sudden evolutionary adaptation in order to prevent being stuck in a jar. Lol. I had an interesting time with the little guy while he was with me.

I also had a Dream that I placed into my Dream Journal if anyone wishes to take a look.

      I'll always remember you Manti...

This is the most amusing thing I've read all week!! Omg I can't stop laughing. "I'll always remember you Manti..."

      Roflmao^{%]^}*%#{*seizure*[{#{^

What you did was very good, hopefully you find time everyday for doing it -- even just a few minutes a day. I do something similar too, but my life kinda revolves around school for now so I pay attention to the slightest details like how my teacher speaks, how the chalkboard sounds like when someone is writing, and other small details. It has also really helped me since many of my dreams take place in my school. Anyway, really great job! And thanks for the amusing workbook entry.

Lol. I'm glad I was able to make you smile, and more importantly, laugh. You've obviously got this whole Lucid living thing down Paige. Listening to sounds, frequencies, etc. I'm learning how to increase my awareness with every day that passes. Sometime soon, I'll be writing Lucid Dreams into my journal every day. By the way, I finally had a Lucid again after almost 4 months! Its a very discouraging feeling to have Lucid Dreams often and then they just dissappear no matter what you do to try and get them back.

Until next time friends, take care.

      Congratulations!

And naaaah, I don't have the lucid living down yet, though I'm certainly trying. I think we all are. I see your efforts are paying off! And I know how you feel, I hate dry spells. But oddly, in a way I love them too, because whenever I have dry spells, it always ends with a couple lucids grouped together. Like they're making up for lost time or something lol.

      Hello everyone

Haven't had much to write about here, so decided to surf the forums and put in my two cents where I felt it might do some good. Updated my Dream Journal with a couple of Lucids (yay) and some regulars. For anyone interested, I'm still taking supplements to assist in my recall and awareness. I must admit I miss the Ganja, but the fact that I've had three Lucids in the two and a half weeks since I stopped smoking is well worth it. Almost had a WILD today. I was catching a nap before going over to my mothers place for a birthday dinner, and I had faces appearing behind my eyelids. When I realized what was happening and tried to help it along, I lost them. I watched as the figures dissapated before me.

I would also like to mention that the past few weeks I've had interesting experiences regarding my short naps. When I try to keep myself from falling asleep, but not whole heartedly, I am treated to what I can only describe as visual thoughts. I watch my thoughts play out before my eyes, before I even realize that I've shut them. And when I open my eyes again, I feel uncertain as to whether or not that just happened. I hope I'm making sense to you all right now because it's kind of difficult to explain.

And another thing, I'm a little disappointed that more people haven't voted or commented in this workbook. It tells me that over 200 people have viewed this thread, 8 of which have voted, and only four of which have commented. Don't be shy people. I'm not used to being the only one talking so please feel free to share ANY comments or questions here.

I have the same things on my naps. Naps are awesome! Before I knew about lucid dreaming, I always refused to take naps because I thought they wasted time. But boy was I wrong. I get the most beautiful hypnagogic imagery during naps too, and I have the weirdest and coolest dreams in naps :3

Congrats on your almost WILD! The only way to get better at something is to keep experiencing and practicing it Everything else is just progress! (lol reference to my sig). moreover, congrats on your lucids! Yay :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
