You could try WILD. I usually save it for the weekend when I'm off and have more time to fall asleep consciously. It can take a little longer than the other techniques.

I used to set a alarm on my device to remind me or an hourly chime or a wrist watch works. You could place a post-it note some place you will see with something inconspicuous on it so you don't get stupid questions from nosy co-workers. You could also wear something on your wrist like a rubber band or one of those silicone bracelets. Or like Kroam said write something on your hand.

Usually, I just keep it sporadic. I feel its less robotic if I remember on my own but I can totally relate to needing a reminder. Getting too engrossed to remember at work is pretty normal it happens to me all the time. When I notice this I'll do a quick nose plug and resolve to remember in the future.

Anyway, WILD needs to have a good awareness built up so I wouldn't throw RCs out the window completely if you switch to it. Reading Sageous' WILD class is highly recommended as well as the techniques in LaBarges book. Personally, I'd ignore all the other WILD "tutorials" on this site. It's usually the same stuff rewritten and gets pretty confusing. Stick with methods that are proven and keep it basic.
