Hello paperplane, glad you found our class! Welcome. I'm glad you already posted your first LD in your DJ.

Just curious, do you practice any particular awareness technique? What do you do while trying to be aware, and for how long? If you have any questions about anything, please ask. I and the other apprentices/instructor will do our best to help you.

I try to observe things more than I use to do, trying to be more aware of sounds around me. Though I tend to forget this. But I try to be really aware of my surroundings when doing my RC:s, and truly question if dreaming.

And yes, I have a question about it.
Even when I question if I'm dreaming and observing smells/sounds/other impressions, should I tell myself I'm dreaming even if I know by the result of my RC that I'm not? Beacause I'm worried that if I tell my self I'm not dreaming i waking life I will also do it when I'm asleep?

Bad night.. Went to bed and could not sleep. Woke up too late and stressad out because I would miss my train.
Could recall some fragments of dreams. I was heading for Oslo in a car. I aslo were in a room with an aquarium. Most fishes had jumped out of it lying on the floor.

I'll start reading Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming on my way to work. Motivated!

That's a good question paperplane. I think that imagining what you would do if you were in a LD could be helpful. For example, say you're in your kitchen and start RCing and practicing awareness. Expect something to be behind you, like a pink alligator. Picture it on the floor behind you, how large it would be, how it might sound. Then turn around and look at the floor. I think exercises like this help because when you're in a dream, you should be able to make your imaginings a reality. Thus the pink alligator will further confirm that you are dreaming.

Though generally, so long as you really pay attention to your RCs and awareness, I think you will realize you're dreaming. Also, I like that you question where you are and where you're going as part of your RCs. Very good for awareness.

Sorry to read you didn't get much sleep. =/ I hate not getting enough sleep. Glad you could remember a few fragments though. You'll be able to sleep well later today at least!

I hope this rambling mess makes sense. I'm a little tired.

I'll try the pink aligator thing
Went to bed at 11:20 pm and wasn't able to sleeo until 2 hours later. Went up at 05:40 am, could recall quite a lot of details from a longer dream.

Good to hear that your recall is getting better what with the details and such. Keep it up!

      Some progress!

Yesterday evening I listed each possible DS bellow each dream written in my DJ. I will sort them out to see whats the most occurring DS and change the DS here in my workbook tonight.

I decided to sleep in an hour and try WBTB again. I did so and fell asleep while trying Oreoboy's DDA.

I dreamt about a DS I wrote down yesterday, it was the fear of elks again. I was camping with some folks and went to bed, then woke up in the same place in my camping tent. (False awakening?) The dream continued and eventually I woke up by my gf's alarm.
I tried to recall my dream with my eyes closed. But I fell asleep before writing it down.

So, I fell asleep again without really thinking about it. I dreamt about another DS I listed yesterday. AND I dreamt I was writing down my previous dream in my DJ. I guess this was the neon sign? The big red button? But I didn't realize it, woke up some moments later.

      Some thoughts:

I have to improve my awareness, even though Im already much better at it than I was some days ago.

I will update my list of most occurring DS.

I must do an RC the first thing every time I wake up.

I will keep doing WBTB and DDA at days when Im sleeping in.

I had a series of strange dreams this morning, after I WBTB, which eventually ended up in a short LD.

In the first one I noticed that the channels on a TV was named Dreamviews 1, Dreamviews 2 etc. Didn't realize it until after i woke up.
Then I had a couple of dreams I can't remember very well, because I tried to reenter the first one to watch the TV again.

Later in the morning I was in a dream where I was paying in a supermarket. I tried to find my money but I felt that it took me ages. This is where I got lucid, when reading a lottery advertise twice.

I asked the DC behind me in the queue to do the reality check together with me. I told him to read the text twice and told him "it changed, didn't it?" "If you say so I suppose it did", he replied.

That's awesome. I tend to find that dreams leading up to a lucid dream are always somewhat strange and just build up to the point of having a lucid. Nice that your DC co-operated too!
Check out my DreamViews Podcast with OpheliaBlue!

The best reason for having dreams is that in dreams no reasons are necessary.

No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream.
Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perceptual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.

Ouch.. I had another "Layer zero minor" last night. Drank about 6 bottles of soda, then I saw I just had drunk "Lucid Boost Soda". Each bottle also had a vitamin B6 pill attached to it. Did not get lucid..

Had two Halls Cough drops after WBTB. I don't know if it was just placebo or it actually helped. But I had much more recall this morning and the seemed more vivid. Though a bit more violent theme/kind of nightmarish..

Had a dream again about Dreamviews, this time about listening to the DV podcast. Again not lucid. Today I will do a RC every time I think about anything related to LDing.

Interesting! I experimented with menthol lozenges a few weeks ago. I had the same thing. My recall went up, and my dreams were verging on the weird and scary types everytime.

Also, a friend of mine reported the same thing.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Sorry I've been away for some time. It started with me trying DEILD and eventually FILD instead of my regular WBTB MILD. This didn't do any good for my recall, I went from writing down two dreams a night to not remembering any of them in the morning. At the same time I had a busy time with my project at work.

I'm doing WBTB again now and had two lucid nights in four attempts. Or actually this morning I didn't even got out of bed. I turned around and put on my headphones with an iso-tunes mp3 combined with random alarm sounds. Ive tried this before but now I only do it when I'm really tired, that seem to do the trick.. The cons are the false awakenings. This morning I caught 3 of them, but the last time I woke up in my bed with my phones on. I did my finger through hand, and it worked. Though I couldnt believe that I was dreaming because the vividness and the details of everything. So I continued with my morning business and at the breakfast I showed my friends what I could do with my hands. I told my self that I must post a topic about this at dreamviews. Finger through hand failing in real life.
And then I woke up feeling quite stupid...

Welcome back! Congrats on your lucids! Well done :bravo:

FA's are some annoying creatures of the mind x) Just keep on doing reality checks everytime you wake up too, so you have a better chance of catching them in the future.

Have you got some personal lucid goals you would like to achieve for this month? Making a list might be nice, it gives you something to look forward to, and helps you do something once you're lucid and not waste those precious moments thinking of something to do :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Yes, here's my tasks for September:

-The task of the month (shrink myself down to insect size)
      -Becoming spider man.
-Play a game of NHL hockey.
-Find a drum set and see what its like to play them in a dream.

After a week without success I had a DILD last night. I was quite surprised because really didn't except to have one, at least not at that point of the night. But still it was my first DILD without any mantras before going to sleep.

I took a nap at 20:30 and did a WILD attempt. After failing this I woke up around 21:30 when my GF came home. I felt very groggy and that continued until 22:30 and I went to bed. I started to feel very restless and I couldn't sleep until 23ish. I woke up from a DILD at 00:55, which wasn't very vivid, though it felt like it lasted for about 15-20 minutes.

That's so cool, congrats! My DILDs are pretty much always unexpected, but if I do like you did and wake up and sleep several times in a row like that, I set myself up pretty good for a LD.

So you gonna post it in your DJ, huh huh?

      Congratulations!!

I, too, get DILDs after I try and don't get one. I swear, it's like my subconscious is playing with me, then when I stop trying, it goes "awww alright here you go". lol

Heads up: It's almost October! I suggest making a new list of monthly goals you want to achieve, as well as reevaluate your DJ for possible new dream signs or any realizations

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Skiped class for so long..

Almost a YEAR since I was here last time. I feel quite ashamed..

I started again from zero this summer, aiming for a WILD. And so far I´ve experienced that its actually more easy for me having DILDs after a failed WBTB and WILD than just from a regular DILD try.

It's probably because of the incorporated WBTB that helps boost your lucidity?

Anyway welcome back! And wow it's been almost a year since I posted in this workbook too haha. Why don't you make a new list of goals, rc's and techniques you wanna try out?

      Yes probably

I had a WILD this morning! A real damn WILD and I'm so glad that all my attempts awarded me with one.
I will write it down in my Dream Journal.
