      Virtualucidity's Workbook

      Reality Checks:
      - Finger through the palm
      - Checking symbol on back of hand and rotating hand

      Dream Signs:
      - Job - I don't have one of those
      - Active social life - I don't have one of those

      Sleep Schedule:
-Usually between 2-3 AM and 10-11 PM

      Short-Term Goals:
      - Recalling more than 2 dreams per night
      - Better recall in terms of dream chronology, what exactly transpired
      - 3 LDs per month
      - 1 LD longer than a minute in a month

      Long-Term Goals:
      - Learn dream yoga techniques
      - Expand my repertoire of induction methods
      - Improve my general dream stabilization
      - Have 1 LD a month longer than 5 minutes
      - Have 1 LD a week

      Lucid/Dream (Recall) History/Experience:
I've tried for short periods in the past to induce lucid dreams, but the few I've had have only come via unconscious WBTB, usually in conjunction with nightmares and have lasted for only a matter of seconds. In my brief experience my level of dream control has seemed quite high, there has yet to be anything I've attempted while lucid that I've been unable to do, but my very limited experience hasn't afforded me the opportunity to try many things. Frequency is definitely something I need to improve, but stabilization is going to be key if I'm to get much out of this.

      Current Technique:
      - WBTB - DILD

It's the only thing that has worked for me in the past, so I figure it's a good place to start. I plan on setting the clock to wake me after 6 hours, as I tend to need about an hour to get to sleep. I figure using a mantra and some visualization before falling asleep initially can't hurt my chances, but the primary technique will be WBTB. I will write in my dream journal for 10-15 minutes upon waking up if I am able to recall any dreams. I can usually recall something, though it tends to be rather fragmented. I will have to work on achieving a better recollection.

Last night wasn't very productive. I did everything according to plan, did my mantras and visualizations before bed, woke up with the alarm, but I didn't have any dreams I could recall so I just stayed up for around 15 minutes and went back to bed. I have very vague recollections of a final dream during that period, but nothing substantial enough for a journal entry. It was almost like I was watching a movie, seemed like a sort of cheesy 70's drama someone like the Cinema Snob (an internet movie reviewer) would make a video about, probably got that because I was watching his newest video shortly before going to sleep. I recall very little of it other than it seemed to revolve around two sisters. I don't feel like I was present at all in it, I've been getting those a lot, dreams where it just feels like I'm watching a movie that doesn't involve me in any way, seems very hard to become lucid in those situations because you don't feel like what you're looking at is reality, so there isn't much reason to do a reality check. I guess the only thing that should have tipped me off was that I wasn't viewing this on a screen of any sort, I was just acting as the camera I guess.

Last night went pretty well. Things were looking discouraging as I couldn't remember anything before my scheduled wake up, but once I had gone back to sleep I was able to recall one dream, and I from there I fell asleep twice more, and recalled two more dreams. No luck at lucidity, even though there were some fairly obvious dream signs, I guess if all we needed for LDs was to have strange things going on in our dreams we would all be lucid. Dream journal has been posted, but I can't post links yet.

Not going to be doing any dreaming tonight. I have to be up very early, so I've decided to just pull an all-nighter. Perhaps I'll try and take a nap when I get home and post my results. Overall I think things are going quite well. Recall has shown a fairly large improvement since I started my attempts less than a week ago, hopefully I can turn that into some lucidity down the line.

Last night didn't go very well. I thought I set my alarm to wake me up after 6 hours, but I guess I didn't hit the start button so I slept the whole night and had very little dream recall. All I can remember is a card game, a lot like Hearthstone, I've been playing too much Hearthstone. I'll make sure I set it tonight and hopefully my recall is better.

Thank you, I will do that.

No entries for the last couple days, I've had dreams and written them in my private journal on my phone, but I just haven't bothered to transfer them over here, and another night has gone by. I will try and get my dreams tonight up here. Recall has been good, I've consistently been getting 2 or 3 scenes a night, and the clarity in regards to chronology and making sense of what exactly occurred has been fairly good as well. I still can't say how exactly a dream started and unfolded, but I'm getting there. Lucidity of any sort still alludes me, but I haven't been at this too long, so that much is expected. Still, hard to be really confident that I'll have an LD tonight when I know in the back of my head that is statistically unlikely.
