      Edward34's Workbook

      Reality Checks (RC)
-Pinching nose and trying to breath
      -Observing hands
-Try to push a finger through my hand
-Asking my self "Am I dreaming?"

      Dream Signs
-Water: Ocean, river, sewer, rain, gigantic water tanks (like in seaworld), and the beach.
-Running: To and from something and just for sport.
      -High school
-Friends: Eduardo, David, Issac, and Japhet
-Video games: Controlling a character or I am part of the game.
      -Surviving

      Short Term Goals
-Have at least 1 LD a week
      -Recall 1-2 dream each morning
      -Improve awareness
      -Control over my dreams
      -Lucid Sex

      Long Term Goals
      -Amazing recall
      -1 Lucid dream a night
      -Complete control over my dreams
      -Lucid Flying
      -Amazing Awareness

      Lucid/Dream Recall History
I have never experienced a lucid dream that I can remember.

My dream recall has always been good. I can always recall a dream whenever I think about it before i go to sleep. Its been turning to poop over the past three days because I diverted my attention to think just about LDing when I am dreaming. But overall its decent; I still want to improve that skill though.

      Current Technique
I always try to perform a FILD or WILD when I do a WBTB. I have recently just got into DILD and MILD.

Thank you for you welcome and I just want to ask how I can use WBTB effectively. I tried it this morning; i went to sleep at 10pm and woke up around 3am I noticed that i had only slept 5 hours but decided to try to WBTB after I finished writing in my journal. I failed I stayed awake for an hour I got up to check the time it was 4am. I got tired and just went to sleep with out affirmations or thoughts.

So this hour that you spent awake, did you do any induction techniques to help your mind set on the topic of lucid dreaming?

There's plenty of stuff one can do during wbtbs and one can also play with the length of time one is awake. Some people take notes from the previous dream they had, read journal entries, etc. I get up for a bit, then think about the tasks I plan to do in the lucid dream and repeat some mantras (can also be done in bed, but careful not to fall asleep immediately, so one may sit up). Then I would return to sleep repeating a mantra for a bit, to make sure I'm focused on having the lucid dream.

I woke up around 3 am like 2:57 am. I wrote in my journal for 30 minutes and went to go use the restroom . I got in bed seeing that I had sufficient time awake. I repeated to myself in my mind "I am aware and lucid in my dreams." Problem was I couldn't fall asleep the visualization and the mantra kept me awake. I was trying to do a DILD.

Aha, you did well. Quite similar to what I do. When you are ready to fall asleep and you feel like you made enough repetitions of the mantra or visualizations, just quiet your mind and go to sleep as usual. You can also try to reduce the frequency or repetitions gradually, till it kind of quiets downs, that's another way to do it.

Ill try it tomorrow morning. Thanks For the advice. I Just started yesterday, to incubate a dream. My incubation is "teach me how to lucid dream" I say this before I go to sleep; I am going to recall five dreams with this incubation and figure out how they connect. I am practically using my subconscious to help me lucid dream.

Today, I freaked out. I thought that i was dreaming because the time on my phone was different than the time on my house clocks. I did my RC but nothing I then realized that the time on my phone was incorrect. I wasn't dreaming, but at least I remembered to do my reality checks.

My night time routine is usually just reading my DJ and practicing my affirmations.

Great you have been implementing wbtbs in your practices. These can be very productive for both dilds and wild. And you can do the different induction techniques during/following wbtb as well. I would also suggest going for some day time practices such as RCs, critical thinking and awareness. These can help increase your ld chances and prepare your awareness and mindset for lding.

That's a great technique as well. You should definitely try it out, quite useful for both lds and helping one fall asleep. More about this tech can be found here:

I attempted a SSILD this morning, no success. I woke up at three as that gives me more time before I go to school. No FA or LD. I am still gonna keep going. I am confident that I will get a LD by the end of this month.

it is kinda funny that you mentioned that haha the SSILD is suppose to work when you don't think of anything. Nonetheless thanks for the advice.

I didn't mean to think about it while performing ssild, but you can still expect and intend the ld (no thoughts required). Expecting is a silent process that is kind of embodied in all induction techs, and is an important element for the overall success. Hope I am not confusing you with my words.

Anyways, another thing you might want to experiment with is the length of wbtb. See how that affects your overall level of awareness after you do your chosen induction tech. For example, your awareness in the dream post ssild might be higher, you might have a vague idea that you should be doing something or paying more attention to the environment, or even thinking about lding, and of course it could be so high that you get an ld.
